Quest disguises no longer hide vampirism.

Guessing we'll be seeing an overpriced 'hide your vampirism' skin in the crown shop soon?

I have an idea, ZoS, how about you stop screwing around with stuff that isn't broken and try fixing some of the multitudes of $h!^ that actually is!

!£$%&*!

They should really just give players the option to hide their Vampirism. It would make a lot of players happy. I has no negative impact on the game itself than I can tell. It even seems to be "lore-friendly" since NPC vampires seem capable of hiding it as well.

If they could apply the vampirism texture layer beneath the tattoo/marking layers instead of on top, that'd be nice too.

Agree, skins do mask vampirism pretty well ...

Points were 1) there's things that actually NEED fixing
    2) there are multiple threads of people asking to hide vampirism all being told to use the quest disguises

Frost skin works to hide vamp and shows lighter shade of natural colour as well.. it's fekkin weird as hell, but better than nothing... which is what we now have.

Cannot be the only one in since beta that's learned to live with this and actually make the best of it by making sure my non-vamped char looks completely different from when vamped.

Yeah, get over it, like everything else, still, ZoS need to get their priorities straight for real.

I'd even go for it being an unlockable of the vampire skill line. Obviously at the highest level of the line. I personally don't have an issue with the looks of the skins at each stage. I'm pretty much constantly at stage 4.

You know if you hate the look so much just don't become a vampire.

For Pete's sake the only real drawbacks to it are fire and appearance with appearance having no game play impact whatsoever.

    Could we be anymore fragile?

This one never said anything about hating the appearance!

This one is p!$$ed 0ff that ZoS insists on *fixing* things that are not broken that we have come to enjoy etc, instead of
fixing things that actually ARE BROKEN!

I was fun to make very dark skinned/furred chars to be vampire knowing with quest disguise you would look COMPLETELY different.... why ZoS insist on taking away fun things is beyond me.

Wear a full set of heavy armor that covers everything and you won't even be able to tell. I think there should be a toggle though. If you can toggle your helmet on and off while wearing it why not be able to toggle the ugly vamp skin on and off

There are several skins in the game that mask vampirism.... If you're going to be a vampire, it only makes sense you look like a vampire. I don't think they need to do anything with vampires.

Consider this: Instead of selling players a single skin that solves all their vamp problems perfectly, they can sell numerous imperfect ones that suit some but not others - and end up selling more in the long run.

I made my necromancer a vampire, first one, and I admit I wish there was a way to return her skin back to the dark fur I had before. It's not the end of the world, but it would certainly be nice.

A friend suggested the Rime skin, but it didn't work well on a Khajiit, did for his Altmer though. Mine just looked all frosty O.o

Meh. This is a non issue for me as I don't particularly care for the way most disguises look anyway. But having said that I'd love to be able to hide vampire appearance when I want, or at the very least have tattoos and markings displayed over the skin.

I want to see a response on this. :)

I totally agree. Even fire really doesn’t matter either. I’ve let mine go to stage 4, and it’s not anything to note.

In my opinion, the only drawback to Vampirism is looking absolutely foul/disgusting.

I'll be honest, I don't think we should be able to hide it completely. It's the price of choosing to be a Vampire.

But tattoos and makeup should definitely go on top of the skin and NOT fade because you can put makeup on a corpse and it doesn't fade out just because they are dead, and frozen stone age corpses have been found with quite dark and visible tattoos. So yeah, that stuff needs to be the TOP layer even IMO over skins.

Quest disguises no longer hide vampirism.

    That is partially correct.

At first glance all disguises do no longer hide vampirism. At a closer view, you see that some are able to hide skins. Use a skin on your vampire and such a disguise, and your char will look mortal.

    Is this for real?

    1. They actually took the time to mess with disguises instead of fixing so many other things? (like some costumes or motifs styles clipping issues, to keep things in the same department). What are we paying them for?

    2. How are we suppose to enter some places (like Crow Dishaba "private club") if the NPC's can see we are vampires?
This completely ruins any immersion while doing those quests because we are instantly reminded that NPC are just plain stupid and blind, they might as well not be there.

I hope some day ZoS will understand that worse than not fixing anything, is "fixing" stuff that don't need fixing instead of taking care of the stuff that really needs fixing.

Why do the patch notes not mention this? Why did they even decide to change it?

I picked up vampirism for its passives, not to telegraph my "undead" status to everyone just by entering a room.

I don't have any skins or polymorphs to hide it behind right now either. Guess that is going to be higher on my priority list for the near future.

This is the sole reason I refuse to become a vampire. Even though my character would benefit from the passives.

Not everyone has the achievement skins so using those isn't a valid option for everyone.

I was grouped with a vampire friend who was trying to figure out why his disguise wasn't working the night after early release patch. The lack of this change in the patch notes is an oversight and it should have been listed.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are more 'fixes' that were not in the patch notes. Seems to happen every time.

Every character benefits from vampirism. It's a free +10% to resource recovery.

If they're not going to give us a disguise, then vampirism should be reworked into something like werewolf so that only people who want to be vampires for RP reasons pursue it. Right now, just about everyone in the game is a vampire because why wouldn't someone want free resource regen?

I get that the difference was where the fun way. I mean what about the quests where you turn into a goblin or an orc or whatever, will those be broken too? What's the point of the quest making your toon look different as a plot point if it doesn't work?

I don't see this at all as a general complaint about vampire appearances as many here are taking it.

That said, I have to take the opportunity once again to state my opinion that I love how gross human and mer skins get with vampirism, but having it affect fur color and scales is just idiotic. You may as well have it bleach out someone's clothing for as much sense as that makes.
