NPC's appearing as offline can happen after an update if the update didn't fully complete. We recommend you first completely close out of the game and allow it to fully update before relaunching.

If you continue to experience this issue, we recommend the following troubleshooting steps:

Restart the game

1. Press the [Xbox] button on your controller to return to the Home screen.
2. Highlight The Elder Scrolls Online.
3. Press the [Menu] button on your controller and select Quit.

Perform a hard reset on your console:

1. Press and hold the [Xbox] botton on the console for about 10 seconds.
2. Once it has shut down, wait about five minutes then try logging into the game again.

Delete the game's save data:

1. From the Xbox Home Menu, navigate to My games & apps.
2. Go to Games.
3. Highlight The Elder Scrolls Online tile and press the [Menu] button of the controller.
4. Select Manage Game.
5. Highlight and select Save Data for the desired user.
6. Select Delete.
