Instead of necro'ing old threads, I decided to make a poll...

Would you like the OPTION to hide weapons while sheathed / out of combat?

An option just like the 'Hide Helmet' toggle would be great! I would like this option to be in-game because I'm tired of seeing floating staves, weapons and shields that clip through my body and armor. How are these floating weapons even held in place - by magic or something? If so, then magic can also hide them while sheathed - right!?

Unequip'ing isn't a solution to me. I don't have to unequip my helmet to hide it. You can't swap ability bars without a weapon equipped. And you can't equip weapons/armor while in combat. I could probably list more things but hopefully you get the idea.

Personally, I like displaying my weapons ... but one can’t argue with any sort of toggle that allows players to choose their preference.

Personally I like seeing my weapons, I guess if it's available for those who want it then I wouldn't have a problem, just I would never use it.

I would rather we have sheathes for our weapons, and they would be visible at the same time.

On the opposite, i would like to see my bow on my back when my dual wield weapons are in my hands, and vice-versa :P

I’d like to have an option to automatically hide my weapons when entering peaceful towns, then would pop up again if I’m in combat for bumping into a guard, or accidentally stabbing an NPC.

For PvP reasons I voted "no", + I played too many games where weapons magically disappear when sheated and it is rather annoying, especially in an immersive RPG.

It’s not really any different than swapping bars and having the other weapons magically disappear either

But then again in a magic filled world where pocket realms and portals are casually created I don’t see any lore or immersive reason to be against it

Would rather have different animation than completely off... Like dual swords crossed on the back... But i guess its too much of a coding...

Right, and it rubs me too that the other weapon just vanishes.

But when you start explaining everything through the wildest "lore reasons" like "I put my thunder stick on my back and it now is in a multidimensional pocket realm" I can only shake my head. It's a simple everyday task to sheat a weapon. Only reason I can imagine they don't show both weapons is clipping issues.

However, this is just a matter of taste. But I'm still repulsed from how it is handled in e.g. Fallout 4.

If you’re on PC, use dressing room. You can set a toggle to remove armor and weapons at will.

I did "other" because I'd like ability if you use a one handed or duel wield and two handed weapon have then both showing at the same time. and scabbards would be a really nice thing to have for swords and daggers.

A toggle option to display or not display weapons out of combat would be nice, that way we dont have to unequip them when RP'ing (for those who do).
On the other hand, I'd also like both of my weapon sets displayed, since it makes no logical sense that I'd simply "conjure a sword and shield out of no where".
Ive always preferred that if its equipped on my character, it also be visible.

What if you suddenly enter combat - are you supposed to just take a beating or try to flee because you have no weapon equipped? LOL

Not everyone on PC uses keyboard & mouse. I play with a gamepad while sitting on the couch and watching a big screen tv. So to use a hotkey I'd have to get up and walk ten feet just to press the keyboard... A simple option in-game would be more ideal.

They could instead just fix the floating and clipping issues so there's no need to hide them.

I'd love this option, but I'd also like to make it possible to COMPLETELY hide your weapons (basically make it look like your fighting unarmed), as it would enable more people to be able to immerse themselves more as a monk or whatever

Clipping annoys hell out of me, always has in every game I've ever played. So yeah, I'm on board with this. You know what's even worse? When a weapon clips through your MOUNT....

Not to mention, there is not ONE hairstyle (not even bald) where my bowblade's bow doesn't clip into her hair.

You see, you slotted/equipped 2 weapons, it should be visible while its slotted/equipped.
Lets say you equip a bow and greatsword, if youre currently using your bow, your greatsword should be seen in your back, and if your using your greatsword your bow should be in your back.
