Update: opening a ticket led to a response by email within a little over a day. Now hoping that this can be fixed.
But I still have a suggestion - if the email address associated with an account cannot receive email, please offer some option to change it without requiring a verification code that is mailed to it, because, duh, email sent to it cannot be received. At least do so in case the account owner has both their password and the answer to the security question available.
For security reasons, maybe using that option could remove any associated credit cards and subscriptions from the account, so the credit card would have to be added again afterwards. That should be a safe option, right?
This would stop people from being in verification code limbo for > 1 day.
