No game is perfect, every game has issues. This game isn't as bad as many others though and is quite fun, so yeah, come play everyone!

I would consider it after they fix game breaking bugs and the LAG.
I will include this game will be a lot of fun for new players, with hundreds of hours of content. But it gets bland for the veteran when 80% of the content, the overland stuff, is so easy without suspension of disbelief when these powerful enemies die in 2 hits.

Also, ESO writers need to get better. We need to have more dickish choices. We get barely any, that already doesn't really change anything, but barely any time to be like "who cares is this vampire is raging across the land, you know what? I think you should die for trying to make me do your dirty work."

Don't do it. From my experience this game is just another virtual addiction. The PvP servers are trash, with constant lag, disconnects, and cheaters. PvE is nice, but it's just an endless chase of completely unattainable rare items, and you'll spend months if not years grinding for garbage basic items. The progression element in this game is pretty much non-existent. Just hope you have a dedicated streamer connection supplied by Zenimax, and then you can be unbelievably gud. Really the makers of this game are just feeding an addiction! Kiss your time and money goodbye with nothing to show for it.

I don't tell anyone to buy anything. Ganes I play are my space away from reality and I don't want to see people I know IRL in them.

I’ve told two friends. One plays whenever he gets caught up with Final Fantasy with me on PcNA. The other...well...he’s playing an orc hybrid healer on Xbox because...he don’t know wtf he’s doing lmao.

For the most part the game is great. PVE is top notch.

PVP is a dumpster fire though. I've been much happier since I quit caring about open world and only play BGs. Gave up hope long ago that ZOS will fix cyro performance. So I'd recommend the game unless it's someone who cares about pvp, in which case I'd tell them to stay far away.

Even then, I'd probably recommend FFXIV over ESO since bugs are just one of many issues ZOS needs to address.

Yes. Unless they wanted to do PVP. This is not a PVP game, in my opinion, so if they are good with PVE, no better games out there.

Those that actually play this game would recommend it to others. Those that say they wouldn’t or only if stuff is fixed are either just being salty or possibly not playing anymore.

While I have friends who have left ESO specifically because of how Zos manages the game and I am critical fo MattF, as long as I play this game I’d still recommend it because it’s still the best mmorpg out there.

Not true to sum people up like that. And I haven't taken a break from this game since day one and have brought lots of new players to ESO over the years. It is a fantastic game that is being ruined by a neglectful company.

They have this archaic plan of dlcs being put out on deadlines, whether they are complete or not. But Zos hasn't taken the responsible option of actually just focusing on the game's performance issues that are getting worse.

They should take the focus off of the next bugged filled dlc and really make some seen improvements to the game's performance issues, by devoting a majority of the resources on that.

It would be more healthy for ESO in the long run.

A few friends of me asked if the new expansion was worth playing and if it was worth returning to the game in general.
My answer was: at this moment, not really. Too many issues that have to be fixed and the game is unplayable at some points (bgs, dungeons).

Normally I would have said yes. I've played the game for years now and I love it to bits. There is something to do for people with different playstyles, casual, roleplayer or hardcore.

But at this moment I would leave it be for a while until things improve again.

    Hey Guys,

looking at the current state of the game...would you tell your friends to buy eso??

    I wouldn't, personally.

Because while I've found the stories in the game to be amazing, sadly the combat and overworld difficulty has basically killed any chance of my friends wanting to even look at the game. I've tried it with 3 different people and all 3 ended the same, with them saying it was too easy in the overworld and that they didn't feel even remotely challenged.

Which I can agree with, I really wish the overworld felt dangerous like in all the other ES games to give some incentive to get stronger.

I think most of that is people being stuck with a crappy internet service provider due to a tendency for those providers monopolizing their local areas.

Then tell me why i don't have these problems with other online games.

It could be the infrastructure. Maybe your provider is using equipment that doesn't play nice with Zos's hardware? It could be any number of things. All I know is that while you may have connectivity issues with ESO, I have zero problems. Like I said, this game runs flawlessly for me. But, I'm most likely not stuck with the internet service provider that you're stuck with.

Yet i have never seen a game with so low performance

Yet many people complain about lag

Yet multiple threads mention the same thing

Yet some people keep blaming players which is a joke

My wife and I are enjoying the game, minus the occasional lag. I'm still trying to figure out where they house their data center for me to have a 100 - 130 latency.

I can log into World of Warcraft and have a nice 46 Latency playing on the Chicago Data Center while living in Arkansas, but with ESO nope.

So, besides the lag from time to time I would recommend this game to my friends to give it a try.

Can't in good conscience recommend a game like this with AKAMAI effing over Aussie customers with bad node decisions.

Seriously I need to spend maybe an extra 5 dollars on mudfish to redirect the traffic through to sydney just to get 280 - 350 latency.

Tell AKAMAI to *** off and then I will recommend this to friends and family.

    Hell no,
    -bad ping for 5 years
-Not enough orginial content (just recycled garbage)
    -Dead pvp
-Trials are too buggy with zero fix in sight.
-Hardly any or new over land content

I like tes single player games in general but eso is a stain on a decent story and game series (nearly falls in the FO76 pile)
