sunspire treasure chest problem

I'd like to preface this with the fact that i LOVE sunspire. i'm still progging veteran and hms but its so much fun, especially for the support roles. Plus, the dps get to stack and parse like they always wanted! i really love the aesthetic and acting and atmosphere they establish and the bosses are the perfect balance of mechanics but also good old dps racing. I love this trial and the gear is also awesome which is a huge relief.

the best part by far is the fact that perfected gear drops on vet mode non hm. This is a huge step in the right direction towards making perfected gear accessible but still a difficult feat, whereas in CR you were either the best of the best or you didn't get perfect gear. Now you just have to be extremely good.I know some people are probably disappointed with this and i can see why, but I for one enjoy it. I'm also really excited for the motif because it looks great in the game compared to how it did in the preview. Smart thinking to make it the armor you see when you make it a character, otherwise i wouldn't have noticed it as much.

anyways. Chests are bummer. They only drop normal versions of the gear, even in veteran mode. Yes this stops people from chest farming (which for some reason I still see a LOT of people doing?) but it feels crummy to actually play the vet content and clear it and not get good gear from chests. The obvious solution that i mentioned a few nights ago [ and my friends say it's already been suggested ? ] is to just put all the chests in between the sealed door and the final boss, and let them drop perfect gear. This way you have to clear both bosses on HM in order to get the chests and you can't just cheese farm it, AND vet players get better rewards for their efforts.

Do you think this is something they'll implement? does this make sense to you? Are all ESO players a subconscious hivemind that share ideas subliminally and I got this thought from what i thought was independent of everyone else who also came up with it at the same time?

The trial (Vet) is so bloody easy; imho: you should have to kill the *three whole bosses* for the loot. It's so much better drops than ever that this post basically gets on my nerves.

If you can live with/get by with non perfected; there are 6 ez chests.

This sentence basically contradicts itself.

This post is a SERIOUSLY NON ISSUE.

As an aside; If you don't wanna do the hardest content why do you even need the top tier gear?

it appears you didn't actually read my post and just ranted at me from the title with a random unrelated quote. if you read it you'd see that i said chest farming is something people currently do [ for worse gear ] BUT if the chests were contained in the final boss area in vet mode then it wouldn't be an issue for it to drop perfected gear. It also doesn't seem like you read it because i AM pursuing the hardest content in the game, so i DO need top tier gear. It'd just be nicer to farm it if chests had any value.

Maybe clearing it could empower the chests?

There would be no way around it no? The instance is completed, the chests power up and maybe reduce the amount of chests to not make it too easy?

well by putting them in the hallway before boss you can bypass this awkwardness. But your point is still a good idea. I don't know how chest loot is spawned in (if when you walk in, when it's unlocked, or when it's looted) but maybe this could work. It'd just suck to people who didn't know and loot before they get to a dragon/clear.

The issue is u can still the boss and go for the chest, for zos to improve the chest, they prolly need to move the chest

that's what i'm saying. you can't skip BOTH the side bosses and go to the final boss, so put the chests there where you can't skip to.

vSS chest farming happens for the jewelry. It takes weeks to try get a full set purple jewelry from the tanking or magicka DD sets through the weekly quest chest. Also I do not see the issue here either in comparison to lets say vHRC if you skip the final boss.
Hell, the boss fights in vHRC are easier than the trash fights we are forced to do in vSS.

i disagree about the boss to trash fight difficulty- vSS trash feels pretty mindless aside from making sure the big cats don't jump in group but.. they're not any worse than regular vet trash. probably easier than some vHoF stuff, and definitely easier than vmol stuff.

i see about the jewelry. but again, if it was tied to accessing the final boss, farming chests would still be rewarding and take some skill to do, even if you just skipped the final boss like in hrc.

When was the last time you tried to do vet Trial with PUG you picked on zone chat?

Imperfected gear isn't bad which is why people farm it.

Claw is a must have for every serious trial guild. That one HP difference between perfected and imperfected won't make any difference to any halfway experienced tank. The imperfected version is even better when tanking Z'Maja execute as you don't want too much HP.

False Gods is pretty much on par with Julianos, so definitely not bad to have especially for classes/players that struggle with sustain.

Lokke is the second best stamDPS set right behind perfected Lokke with a group that is build around it.

Only the healer set isn't all that great, but mainly cause it's so hard to fit all the current support setups on tanks/healers.

I actually dislike that perfected gear drops at all from non HM.

I was thinking there should be about 30-50% change to get perfect gear from chests but your idea is better.

The chest runs of vSunspire are an abomination.

They are either the result of astonishingly poor trial design, or a cynical attempt to flog Elsweyr to vet players (“hey come in NOW for your free jewels, this cheese won’t be around forever”). I don’t know which I find more abhorrent. I expect it to be closed as an exploit about 2 weeks after the console release.

As far as perfected gear goes, I think that should only drop from defeating the bosses themselves or the actual quest. That way you have genuinely earned them. It makes sense to drop them from HM, as they should be hard to obtain.

your original comment included a bunch of questions and weird slights that would have been resolved if you read what i was saying, so i assumed you didn't. I could care less that you disagree with me, I just don't get why you made a bunch of weird comments regardless of what i said.

also, it's a shame, because I enjoy doing the HM better, it's more challenging.

Perfected gear should only drop from bosses to encourage content completion, and chests should stay as they are, to help groups who are slow progressing past a certain point to still get gear. Non-perfected versions are still very useful, and given the nature of RNG in drops, it might take a long while for those without capable regular groups to farm their perfected sets.
