I wouldn't tell anymore gamer buddies... I tried that enough times and it always turned out the same way. Combat felt too sloppy and PvE was too boring before some end-game content.
I would probably tell friends that are interested in an online game with little/no experience in gaming.
Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.
Those that actually play this game would recommend it to others. Those that say they wouldn’t or only if stuff is fixed are either just being salty or possibly not playing anymore.
While I have friends who have left ESO specifically because of how Zos manages the game and I am critical fo MattF, as long as I play this game I’d still recommend it because it’s still the best mmorpg out there.
I encouraged a lot of my buddies to play. I've also had a lot give it a try. Only 2 have stuck it out and are now creeping on CP cap. The game can be daunting at first to many.
I tell my friends that the detail in the game is incredible, for example just outside Rwalkia heading west you come to a small creek which has a covered wagon in it that is beat up with pots and pans etc lying in the creek and looks amazing. It's not part of any story line just there for immersiveness. You don't see that in any other online game in that detail. It's worth it for just that.
I personally hardly play any more just due to burnout, possibly will play when Elwswer becomes available on PS4 but when I do I intend to take it slow.
the game it actually really good, the problem lies on the server, which makes the game umplayable at peak and off peak times, that is why we all keep complaning... game is good, server is garbage, and it is not possible to play a good game with a bad server.
They came, they played, they got tired of it, they left (quite a while ago). The ones who enjoyed it left to play other MMO's after Orsinium and nothing since has enticed them back, the ones who didn't enjoy it don't really game anymore.
I've never spoken much about ESO to my friends beyond the fact that I play. If any of them mentioned being interested I'd recommend they do their own research on the server because we wouldn't be on the same one.
The two most crucial points I'd be sure to share are the freedom to create a highly customized character build because I feel it's safe to say that would be the biggest positive to them, and that PVP is not separate although you don't have to participate. That would probably be the biggest negative, they aren't used to PVP being a part of the open world and if anything put some of them off completely I think it would be that.
I used to always tell people to play, but no one has stuck with it. Every single one of my friends that have tried the game quit before cp160. Most make it to level 50 then realize the game was ridiculously easy and they can't do content anymore so they just give up. A couple haven't even gotten to level 20 before just stopping and saying the quests weren't even challenging and it felt like a chore.
Brodor - PC NA - ESO's only pure bodybuilding guild Hodor, but stronger
I would consider it after they fix game breaking bugs and the LAG.
I would like to change my answer to no. Watching the Community Mods censor parts of the community who are making it known that they are having an issue with both the performance of the game(EU Server) and and also their displeasure over the lack of communication being put out as a whole regarding these issues. There was a 6 month plan that was supposedly going to be laid out last year and that 6 months has come and gone leading us to all believe that there really was never a plan.
People are frustrated, your games needs to be fixed and game breaking bugs should not be allowed to go into your incremental patches, it's simple quality control. Things within the coding should not be so intertwined as they fix one issue and then break another, its ridiculous.
I tell them. Many have played it for a time and left and some have returned. I always explain the good and the bad. I know this game is not for everyone. I personally have played it since beta and plan to continue.
2 of my kids play. My wife finally gave in last week and is now cp 65, and refuses to make me dinner till her writs are done. :P
I love it!
My wife and I played WoW since Beta. She was still playing when I decided I'd had enough, and started ESO late November, last year, I believe. I had played in early beta here as well, but quit back in 2016, if memory serves. Now I'm on PS4, and love it. She would watch me play when not raiding or whatever, on WoW. When she was, I'd play my alt stamblade, so she wouldn't miss anything on "Dad" as we call my main. Not long after, she decided to go the same route; ditched Wow for the hot mess it is, bought a TV and PS4 and now we both play together. If I had any gamer friends, I'd be certain to recommend ESO.
Yes still by far the best MMO i'v played. The lag and performance drops in PVP does get frustrating but I still love Open world PVP in this game espsically if you get a good defense going on a keep. Thats my only complaint and I hope they take the time to fix it. But its no worse then PlanetSide 2 or AION PVP was so not sure if its something that will ever be 100%.
As a PC player it's easy to accept the lag and performance. As a console player I could see the frustration bc its not normal to have an MMO on console on my opinion.
