Help me flesh out a backstory

Having a backstory is important to me, but my latest character has more of a "theme" than an actual backstory. He's an imperial Templar named Uriel Stewart Picard. He's based off a mix between emperor Uriel the 7th from Oblivion (voiced by Patrick Stewart) and captain Picard from Star trek (played by Patrick Stewart). His backstory could invoke that connection with some kind of time travel/alternate universe stuff or it could not. That was just my inspiration. I've been having a hard time coming up with a backstory that feels right, but really enjoying playing him.

When Jagar Tharn imprisoned Emperor Uriel during the Interregnum, he made a tiny calculation error with his spell and not only accidentally mashed the emperor together with his voice actor and another character from the far future, but also chucked the now melded (and very confused) version of all three back into the 2nd Era.

    A Wizard Did It.

Alternatively, the Dragonbreak of Daggerfall's ending had some interestibg side effects for the poor Emperor when he tried to wield the totem and the mantella.

    Patrick Stewart is the Godhead.

Problem solved. And the Elder Scrolls universe is logically explained.

Uriel could get weird blinding headaches where he gets flashbacks he doesn’t understand, flying Dwemer ships and alien creatures unknown to Tamriel. He could travel the corners of Tamriel trying to make sense of it all. He could make a pact with Hermaeus Mora for the knowledge locked in his mind, only to slowly lose his sense of self, becoming addled with fits of confusion as beams of light shoot from his palms from an unknown power from his other life.

Hmmm that's a cool idea. I'll ponder that one. This actually fits fairly well because he's joined up with the stargazers (something about the 'stargazers' just resonated with him for some reason...) who would do something like this.

Honestly, you can't really bring characters from other franchises directly into a TES world since that sort of interplanar travel and stuff doooooesn't really fit into the universe's lore. The time travel and different planes (and travel between them) is completely different. Your best bet is to use the character as a basis, but make changes to them so they fit the lore, like the person with this response suggested.

It could even be that instead of those being flashbacks, it's just him having hallucinations of Dwemer starships and weird aliens out there floating around in space. Perhaps he's like a certain character we meet a few times through ESO who can't remember his past, but ends up being created by Meridia to serve as her 'Light' and Champion. This guy of yours might have similar ties to Mora; rather than seeking him out for information, he's connected to Mora in some deeper way that he's either not aware of yet, or doesn't really understand.
