Rant : make tats show, not fade.

There are several threds of complaints about tats not showing on vamps.
I bought (with Crowns) the bodymarking pack. Many to choose on my non-vamp toon.
Nothing looks good on my vamp alts.
Was there a good reason why this is mechanically imposible to fix?
I would even purchase a "remedy.'

End rant.

Check out the Psijic markings. They are about the only good ones for Vampires.

Yeah I feel like vampires should be able to hid the cosmetic form through the outfit system.

I think the programmers made vampirism apply a color filter over the pixeled textures of the character. This was before they had body skins implemented and was probably an easier form of implementing the changing skin color. I would also like to see them remove this and make vampirism only apply to the skin, not the tattoos.

Tattoos look terrible on dead skin. Seems right to me.

How though? If someone tattoo a dead corpse, the ink is going to be bright regardless of the state of the skin lol.

EDIT: I do not tattoo dead corpses lmao.

Oh good, then we can get an experts opinion on whether or not tats should appear on vampires. What do you say expert?

Do you players think that the devs WANT vamps to have faded tats (like it's the way things are supposed to be)
    or
it's just a problem with layering?

I don't think they necessarily WANTED tattoos to look faded. I think they wanted you to look properly monstrous and used an overlay like other people mentioned and the fact that tattoos get faded is an unfortunate side effect.

It's pretty apparent that vampirism is just an overlayed skin because using any skin, even those such as Amberplasm that don't cover everything remove the vampirism look. It looks like an easy solution to making your character look like a vampire, but not the most quality one.

Problem with layering. There'd be no logical reason for Vamps to have faded tattoos; if anything, they'd stand out even more against paler skin. I doubt the devs would purposefully want to wash out certain cosmetics when they're something people spend money on; why would you want to make something look so unappealing and thus drive potential customers from buying something? I don't think the art department wants their work being largely for nothing on Vamps, especially since on certain chars like Argonians, body markings can become pretty much invisible rather than just faded.

It's one of the main reasons people want the ability to hide the Vamp appearance, so we can properly use the cosmetics many of us have purchased.

They should just change the layer order so the tattoos appear on top of all other effects. Problem solved. Yes, it really is that simple and I don't know why they haven't done it yet.

Tattoos and makeup should be the top layer over everything else. You can put both on a dead person, they don't fade out to nothing instantly. Just because a Vampires skin is faded, well, why would that fade tattoos or makeup? Those are on top of the skin. I mean you can put makeup on a dead person and it doesn't magically fade, and ice age corpses have been found frozen with still dark tattoos. So???
