I've been mulling this thought over the past few days trying to think how this will work out for people who play on console (I play PC but if you read on you'll understand). Currently the game has 3 split versions. With the understanding of Microsoft's position on next gen console gaming will be focused on cross platform and compatibility to pick up and put down from PC (at least that is the impression.)
With that out of the way, and I know we might be a ways off from next gen but people should start planning for anything if they are really enjoying the game right? Some people do not make a lot of money and can just buy the new console/game/stuff they will need right away so I'd like to ask this in hopes for an answer on the plans of the future of game. It's clearly doing VERY well lately and I doubt we can see an ESO2... I hope... That wouldn't be good.
- Cross play? Will PC be able to play with Xbox? Will that leave PS5 in the dust? Will ZOS do what FFXIV ARR did and make their own data centers to support cross platform / cross play?
- What are the intentions of the current game? Make EVERYONE buy a new game? I highly doubt this but doesn't hurt to ask for some information.
- If we can cross platform can we expect our accounts to be synced? Will we only have to worry about paying for 1 account so we can play the game on all platforms if they are all cross platform or even just xbox / PC.
It would be really fantastic if there could be even more details I'm missing here. Knowing their plans early would be great but I'm certain I'm jumping the gun here as well. Either way we as a community can discuss it as well even if we don't see a response from ZOS.
