Game Sent "Messenger" from WRONG FACTION for Main Quest

I have "Any Race, Any Faction". This is the second time this has screwed me.
I created a Khajiit but made her Pact. I created her in Elsweyr. I needed a bank and didn't have a wayshrine, so I traveled to a house I had in Coldharbor. As soon as I exited, I got the Messenger and she sent me to Auridon!
- The quest cannot be deleted to generate a new messenger
- there's nobody in the house in Vulkel Guard
- I don't want to delete the character.
Sadly, I think I'm stuck with Option #3 Delete and start over. How can I avoid this happening again? This is the 2nd time it has happened to me on this account, and I had to delete that character also. That was over a year ago.
Does ANYONE know of another fix beside deleting the character and starting over? If there isn't, ZOS are you planning on ever fixing this?

DarkerDreams✭✭✭iirc, it's not in a house in Vulkel Guard, it's on a ship . You should still be able to do it no matter where it sends you. WHen done, you'll appear in starting zone for your actual alliance0 -
FineFeathered✭✭✭That's been a problem since they moved the starts to new areas. New players to the game are lost and players have to help them find the main quest.
But I still want to know, what do you do when the game assigns the wrong faction to you? My character window (press C) does show Pact. So that's right. But my starter area is wrong.0 -

FineFeathered✭✭✭Actually, I misspoke when I said Vulkel Guard. The messenger wants me to go there to the ship.
but for the Pact it's not on a ship, it's in a house in Stonefalls in the starter city.
Nobody there. Not an option.

FineFeathered✭✭✭As for the "it will be fixed after Coldharbor" this is wrong. Remember how I said this isn't the first time? All of my main quests ended up being in the wrong place after coldharbor also, so the faction being wrong, stayed wrong, and I had to see the Prophet in the wrong faction's ...wahtever it is the Prophet calls his hideaway.

DarkerDreams✭✭✭Idk then, I've been sent to various places for it for different characters and every time I finished, I ended up in the correct place after the coldharbour quest. And that's for the 14 characters I made since switching to PC when morrowwind came out.0

FineFeathered✭✭✭Well, it did not work for me, so I deleted the character and recreated it, using the "official" faction for that race. Other posters might have made it work, but for me, the Prophet's Harborage stayed in the wrong faction after Coldharbor.
So reroll.0
