Pet Sorc Pvp

Looking to make a pet sorc. Obviously necropotence, but im seeing a couple different combinations such as..
Necro/armor master/monster
necro/lich/chudan

The idea seems to be the same damage/defense/sustain when pairing sets, however i am wondering if anybody knows what is the best combo to use. I plan on putting builds into eso build editor to get the best numbers but i would sure like a starting point in testing the tried and true builds.

Also, im seeing snb and ice staff for a back bar. Which one is better? Personally Im not a huge blocker so was thinking about going snb to up defense numbers, unless ice staff had something else to offer. Seeing Fire and shock as options for front bar. Biggest puzzle to me is I see haunting curse instead of daedric prey? There must be a reason for this.

Just trying to get an idea of what works best for pet sorcs and a starting point for putting one together, any help would be greatly appreciated!

In pvp learning your class and play style is more important so you can then build your gear around that play style. You mentioned you are not a huge blocker so going s/b or ice staff will not help you if you are not utilizing block to it's full potential. I prefer resto back bar to get those hot's going under my shield.

Obviously necro is top choice for pet builds, but your secondary set should be based on your play style. If you like to dodge roll more often then go shackle or Amber. If you want more damage go with the new crafty set or for more recovery try bright throats or lich. If you're not good with shields then armour master. For monster sets I always prefer chudan the extra resistance, health, and also saving a bar slot for a resistance buff is priceless.

Curse vs prey for a pet build? Prey will always be better, the extra damage and taunt added with the latest patch is much better for pet builds, no more heavy attacks needed. Most good sorcs don't even let that second blast go off so curse is really a wasted morph pet or no pet.

For staffs I prefer fire for the extra single target damage with a shock glyph for chance to proc minor vulnerability. You could go shock staff, but the damage is slow and predictable and ruins the weaving of skills. Ultimately find what works best for your play style and you will be more effective.
