Honestly I can´t go complaining about server performance anymore, I don´t even care anymore..
Saw someone in chat the other day complaining they couldn't sell emp runs to other factions anymore because of the lock.
Yes, there's drawbacks to the system, like not being able to play with friends in other factions or having the map dominated by one faction with little chance of comeback.
But if the community wasn't so trolly and doing shady things, this kind of "solution" wouldn't be necessary.
You can thank your fellow players for faction lock. If they would've just played for the alliance they were currently on, instead of sabotaging or spying, this wouldn't be an issue.
Edit: And I'm not seeing why you are "triggered" with faction locking beyond "It's a stupid idea"...maybe include some point why you think it's stupid..
It's not about immersion, it's about players being ***.

The problem with this idea is that it does not resolve the problem with the abuses that faction-hopping enables.

the problem was never faction lock....the problem was the MASSIVE ZERGS OF PEOPLE GOING AFTER ONE OBJECTIVE/PLAYER

its not faction hoppers that are a problem...they have minimal impact on the campaigns cause they are true ap leechers...
faction lock is there to punish the small handful of legitimate pvp guilds that want to play against other players, they dont care about ap as there are more efficient ways to earn it
anyone defending faction lock or 90% of the EP players on noncp (there are some real pvp players there) needs a freaking lobotomy or an open palm slap to the face
