For Stam Nords are still garbage DPS, and it's Orc or nothing. This isn't balanced at all, and it's been this way since the previous PTS cycle and nothing was done about it.

There is always going to be BIS races for a particular role. Races are way more balanced than they used to be. The only way that all races could have the same effectiveness for every role is to have the same passives and that doesn't sound like much fun.

Nord is fine, orc is fine.

Khajiit and argonian could use a slight buff.

The races have never been as close to each other as they are now. You can do anything as any race on any role. Most effective, maybe not, but still fine.

Why did you choose the tank race for your stamina DPS character, and then complain about it?

I'm quite happy with the racial changes, especially with the bosmer (+ penetration when roll dodging) and altmer (stamina back when using class skills) ones.

Let them cry. They should have known this would happen sooner or later when they race changed. It was obvious after the second change to Orcs, that they would be by far the strongest Stamina DD.

Not every race needs to compete at the same level as others. Nords are amazing tanks and, unless you are min-maxing, will still hit good DPS numbers in the right hands. If you want racial passives at all, you have to accept not all races can excel at every role. And that doesn’t limit you from anything except the absolute hardest scoreboard content.

And don't forget to fix Argonian, Bosmer and Altmer lore while we are at it.
Racial passives have no reason for being at all if they aren't based in lore. Otherwise we might as well "choose our destiny" at the start and pick stats regardless of race.

@shimm Which one are you talking about? Hunter's Eye? That's their first passive, not their third. If you are talking about 258 stam regen, then you are wrong. It's quite powerful. Certainly more powerful than Redguards outside of lab conditions anyway.

I hope we get a good 2 years before any more racial passive changes. It's pretty swell right now, I have toons of each race, and they each serve a purpose.

What is your definition of balance? Essentially you want every class to be the same?

I do hope they'll make another balancing pass. Not sure what they were thinking (if they were thinking at all) when they overloaded orcs with such abundance of stats, it was clear as day that orc will end up being runaway meta. And later on, instead of adjusting that, they further skewed the picture by nerfing food - something that did bring sustain stamina races a bit higher (although 'middle ground' races like khajiits grew even worse), but on magicka side, pushed already top tier bretons even higher (since they just continue to run Bloody Mara without any sacrifices for sustain). So many misguided balancing attempts.

Yes I meant hunters eye (I should have named it, the 2 two websites I looked up the racial passives on both list it 3rd). I just looked through all of the racial passives again, and it is (by far) the least useful of any. Even a straight increase of 500 penetration would be more useful... and still less useful than any other of the races passives. In my opinion of course.

So say I take my dark elf. Boost to resource and damage.

Slap an infused recovery glygh on 1 piece of jewelry.

My racial covers the lost resources and damage while putting my sustain close to other races.

So the difference becomes negligible.

Or am I wrong?

Few Ks of dps? We're talking about less than 300dps difference.

The races are far more balanced than before, parses and math have ALWAYS shown an incredibly small margin of difference that comes down to player skill and error.

This is just another thread pushing an agenda, like 99% of the threads regarding balance.
