That would be stupid to have your lvl50 cp toon to just automatically switch to a necro.

If they released class change tokens, then you shouldnt be able to switch to a brand new released class, within a month or something like that

I'd be down for account wise mounts, skyshards, lorebooks, fighters guild.

But zos wants crown for things like that

why its stupid ?, change to necro with necro skill line set to 0, and need to level up the class skill line all over again just like everyone else

what so stupid about that ?

Zos seems to have expressed they are not interested in such a thing when they said they were no interested in offering faction change., Personally I do not care either way.

The only game I have seen class change in is FF but it is a very different type of system so it is not very comparable. Besides, it is a poor example as it seems designed more with children in mind. Very bad game.

    Excuse you?

FFXIV is a great game and definitely not designed for children.

    No it doesn't.

That is creating a new character, which is not the same as changing your class. Obviously.

They don't want people to change classes based on flavor of the month/meta. If you want to play another class, create a new character. Nothing wrong with rewarding effort.

Then there would be no point in changing class, now that's truly a dumb response.

It's obvious he was referring to just the class tree restarting at lvl 1, not all the others. Which, I mean, since you're just changing YOUR CLASS then yeah it makes sense. Having ALL skill lines restart from a class change is easily the stupidest thing I've seen on this thread.

So the fact that you didn't earn those skill lines on thar class but you still want the perks of them , well that's just lazy and you see I dont resort to your level and say that your response is dumb , act like an adult and your be treated like one

So make the class change reduce your character to level 1. That way you would still have to level up your character again under a new class. You just wouldn't have to redo everything else in the process - like all the quests, guilds, achievements etc. All of that has taken me literally years to do and it's unreasonable to expect me to have to do all of that over again just because I want to do another class.

I have seen a lot of others complain about it too.

It's unreasonable in my opinion because it's just too tedious when all you are after is a class change. I don't believe someone should have to redo their all their guilds, all their achievements, all their quests, all their crafts, all their research just so they can be a different class.

Only the meta chasers complain about this. They just try and mask/justify their argument with something else.

Stop chasing meta if your too lazy to level toons. Or if you just wanna test then go to PTS.

Sorry, but this is not the only reason someone could want to change class. For example: You have one max level of each class, the rest of your character slots are filled with bank mules, with the 60 day bag upgrade and max bank space. Now a new class drops or you want to level a different class, you have no options except delete a character that has a large sum of gold invested. I think class change token is a good idea. The whole chasing the meta argument is completely flawed, the vast majority of meta chasers already have one of each class ready to go. Flaw number 2, why difference does it make to you if someone else chases the meta. Are you so unhappy with your life that you believe that no one else should be happy? Honestly, if that is the case you need to look into professional help.

The last thing I am is a meta chaser. I come up with my own builds and I seriously doubt they are what you would consider "meta".

It would be a better idea to put some level 50 boost tokens in the crown store, and those who don't want to spare time to level up a character could be happy.

ESO is already alt-friendly enough in my opinion.
The only thing which consumes more time is the crafting research times and the main storylines for each faction, but it's not required to do with all of your characters at all.

Farming skill lines aren't difficult either, especially with all those guides on various websites or addons.

Very much this, you’d still need to grind up skill lines and etc so it wouldn’t be a p2w feature.

Doing the same thing over and over again will get boring no matter what.

But that's not really the basis for my argument. It's more a question of why should someone have to do everything over just so they can change their class.

I have played various MMO's for the past 20 years and ESO is the only one you constantly see the request for class change token. I mean every dam weeks you see a new thread about it and the game is only 5 years old.

My guess is that something is flawed. Probably all of the grind walls they keep adding to the game. Others MMO make some of these grind not required when they release new content.

I agree. It's probably just because this game is so massive and having to redo everything is just a huge undertaking. It has taken me literally years to complete all the story lines and guilds and achievements and re-doing all of that just because I want to be a different class is hard for me to justify to myself.
