Man, those people will leave WoW Classic as soon as they remember what a horrible pain in the ass Vanilla WoW was. Also, an online community is the same no matter where you go. Get enough people in there and they will always behave the same way, WoW refugess have nothing to do with it.

QFT, I actualy have never seen ESO as a friendly community. I have nver heard so many complaint asking for nerf in any other MMO.

I,m actualy happy that many left WoW for ESO. The game feel like empty cuz lets admit it. You very rarely met anyone questing a few months ago.

The ESO community hasn't changed much since One Tamriel, and even that was a fairly mild change.

Maybe you're just finally noticing the similarities all MMO communities have?

Living in a world that's out of control.

It had 12 million MMO players at it's peek so i'd imagine most MMOs are more than 50% ex players.

I've got a stack of max level toons in 5 games and spend a bunch of time in 3 other games so that's a lot of reasons to hate me.

I really don't understand people who get upset about MMO talk, I've heard EVE players yelling with a mix of pride and anger that they've never played a game with elves and dragons.

Edit: wow is full of chat about other games and you don't see anywhere near the number of people getting upset about it like you do here.
I guess it's because the players are older and have jobs and rising property taxes to get upset about.

I love how everything bad in ESO has some kind of correlation to WoW.
And no worries most of the WoW refugees already are back to WoW these days

Just keep investing into ESO+ and Crown Crates and all the problems are gonna magically disappear (also your money but thats just a minor side-effect)

Because IMHO it was the best game I've ever played hands down and that's not nostalgia talking either. I wasn't even a hardcore raider either. It was fun. Now it's gone. No I won't be touching it either. Screw that company for what they did to that game.

That's uncommon.
I played from Burning Crusade to Wrath of the Lich King and the only players that loved vanilla was because only raiders could have gear (they hated pvp vendors) and could afford mounts and could make use of crafting.
They wanted the days where you were either a raider or you were nothing.

During BC and WOTLK commonly the they only people who went back to the old world were going to the auction house or helping other players level so they could get out of the old world.

Most of the players I talked to in game and on the forums had every inch of outlands and northrend explored and a dozen old world zones that they had never stepped foot in.

The appeal of classic goes well beyond nostalgia and rest assured for most it is more than a honeymoon. Classic wow in 2019 represents a particular set of fundamentals n the genre that have long since been abandoned nor replicated anywhere esle currently.

Say what you will about retail wow or how poorly classic has aged versus is modern peers, but there is a very real desire for that type of mmo thathasnt existed for a little over a decade. There are certain strengths that classic wow possesses that eso could never incorporate despite what is viewed as the superior game.

We did Molten Core in a mix of blues and greens, and tbh, I can't even remember if the guild I was in ever beat it or not. There were no other ways to get purple items minus a very small few class specific over land drops. You did not need to raid at all to make use of crafting. Mounts were not locked out of raiding, you didn't make gold from raiding. You probably lost gold over all since repair bills could really mess with you. Everything about vanilla wow was a mega grind though but I didn't mind it. Like I said though, it was fun and now it's gone and nothing like that will ever come around again.

As much as this game has wrong with it, I love the other aspects of it and don't plan on leaving it any time soon. I can gripe and moan about the bad though =p
