Ninja Nerf in Craglorn ?? (zone difficulty)

I searched the patch notes and didn't find anything. It appears as though all of Craglorn has had its difficulty changed. It feels like the whole zone has been set to a Public dungeon type of difficulty rather than the normal Group Difficulty.

I've cleared all group delves and several of the group quests as a solo player, some of which I've tried before and failed. Also my DPS is about 3 to 4 times higher in Craglorn than it has been previously. I've made some video examples if anyone wishes to see what I mean. Here is just one example, I have others as well.

If this is true, it would be a good thing. Despite ZOS's efforts to make Craglorn more playable, it's still a ghost zone other than those few who still farm Nirn.

I might have to take my main to farm some achievements.

Did you try an Anamoly or one of those Portals? Those used to be World Boss level mobs, have those been softened? How about the Nirncrux mines, is the final boss easier?

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

If this is the case they also need to reclassify the content to be the same as other zones.

No ran out of time but I did try that atronoch and mage north east of Valley of Scars Wayshrine and beat them in 34 seconds when it is usually a struggle for me on this character.

I also soloed Skyreach hold for the first time. there was a side boss in the middle that I still could not beat and I died once on the final boss because I never seen him before. Video below:

Edit: I've also soloed every group delve now and finally got all my skyshards from that zone.

That is odd. Maybe this is on Xbox only, but Craglorn is the main area for people looking to join a trial. A lot of the higher-end players also hang out here and BS in zone/area chat.

Did your skills, sets or food get buffed? Have you tried soloing dungeons that were previously just out of reach? See if you can do something that is unrelated to craglorn that you couldn't before.

The adjustment occurred a long time ago. I entered skyreach hold today as well and the difficulty is about the same as when I entered it during the last week of the anniversary event. Either you didn't play after the initial adjustment or you simply became a better player.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Maybe it is just the adjustments made to my build show up more there.

I'm aware of the adjustments made a while back and this is even easier for me to play now. Maybe it was adjusted where high end players wouldnt notice but medium level players would.

What I initially thought it was, was that reverse slash now affects more targets. It use to hit two or three now it works like a front aoe hitting anything in front of you, like 7 or 8 targets at a time. Maybe that is all that it is.

it's not a ghost zone because of difficulty, instead i would say the difficulty is what attracts some people into this zone, including myself.

it's a ghost zone because you don't have what to do there different from what you can do in other zones, except farming nirn stones. They could add higher gold dropped in world bosses, or instead of blue items to drop purple items the world bosses, that maybe would attract more attention.

The issue with Craglorn is that everyone hated it...and everyone hate it now....and has been reworked twice already, there is high probability ZOS gave up on it and accepted it will stay a dead zone.

Why? Mybe they should insta CP810 you for killing some random *** in Craglorn too to "attract more attention".

If it hadnt "attracted any attention" by now its a lost cause, and i guess ZOS is aware of that too, after wasting enough time on reworking it completely TWICE already.

I believe the concept of Craglorn was largely right, just the timing of it was wrong.
Now that there is a gross surplus of solo questing content in the game development would do well to take another look at Craglorn, return it to group content (many of us thoroughly enjoyed it) and update the rewards/loot-table as accordingly.
If you can be anything, be kind.

No it wouldn't. It was the only zone one had at least a bit of a comptetition as a solo PvE player. And im not talking about BiS trialgear with 50k dps.

No, not really. Some people might be dueling or in voice chat talking to others. Some people might be looking at guild traders or doing dailies. But for the most part, people are just hanging out. At any given time you could see up to 10 different LFGs for Trials going on. Also, it's a good place to showcase your titles/skins to other high-end players (petty, I know, but aren't we all?).

    Engage Maximum Hyperbole!

A small push isn't a bad idea. Like perhaps making the overland sets better, then you might see more people there.

Way of Air, instead of 6s make it 10s and it might be a bit better
Way of Fire, kind of a lost cause since it is a Stam set, that supports Elemental Damage
Way of Martial Knowledge, increase it to not just 1 attack, but all attacks for the next 4 seconds with a 10 second cooldown.

Aside from questing, the biggest reason you see people out in the world is to farm things such a Gear, Skyshards, and Books. You can avoid all the skyshards and books in 1 zone, and still get all you will ever need, but Gear is a different story. It needs to be worth the effort.

The only thing it needed was to still be as hard as its original form and have all of the 3 player checks taken out of it. Then it would have been a training grounds for new groups and/or a build check for playing solo.

At least that is what I would have liked to have seen done with it.

Ok I tried all three today and soloed all three. I had to do resource management more so ending dps was only about 11k but my health rarely dropped below 80%.

I'm pretty sure I could have soloed a mine before the patch but I've tried to solo the others before and failed miserably. It hasn't been that long since I tried one of the portals.

Despite ZOS's efforts to make Craglorn more playable, it's still a ghost zone other than those few who still farm Nirn.

That is odd. Maybe this is on Xbox only, but Craglorn is the main area for people looking to join a trial. A lot of the higher-end players also hang out here and BS in zone/area chat.

Since you can port to a Trial, or organize a Raid, from anywhere in the game, I don't count that. What I am talking about is the zone content.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

After playing more of the game, I think another thread I've seen here is correct. I think they nerfed the difficulty of all the overland stuff again.

They made changes to the difficulty in Craglorn so everything is now soloable. It isn't for groups anymore. So it is much easier. Plus it will be easier depending on how much Cp you have. And also, if you are automatically being levelling by the one Tamriel mechanic, then you will be a lot stronger.... I was soloing those three world bosses at that camp (Dugan's Knoll) in Malabal Tor when I was level 15.

The problem with Craglorn is it was released as an "adventure zone" designed for group play. It served that function for a time... it had a fair amount of group activities and raid activities and was the de facto grind location. For the period of time where the content was relevant it was pretty decent and well populated. The group delves were actually quite good for their time and actually required a group that was competent.

When the xp nerfs hit it and when new content was released (IC primarily) it died out. It was still "balanced" as a group play zone though... From IC on you had a change in DLC material... Adventure zones were entirely scrapped (craglorn and then upper craglorn being the only adventure zones, my guess is IC was originally to be an adventure zone due to it's group content). From IC onward it was all DLC material which is all soloable content (including the delves). The only content in every DLC post IC that isn't solo friendly is world bosses.

Eventually they balanced out craglorn to a degree... but in some cases the zone and it's delves had mechanics in place that made them not soloable. They have made a couple passes at rebalancing Craglorn, but it was designed to be something entirely different and it's not so easy to change it's nature. It needed to be done though.. as it's just not feasible for a non max CP player to complete the zone and with no one to complete it with, it's even more impossible.

Craglorn/Upper Craglorn were from the sub model of ESO and were also from a pre-CP time. Craglorn came with a level increase (and gear level increase) and then Upper Craglorn did as well. Vanilla ESO was veteran rank 10... Craglorn was veteran rank 12... upper craglorn was veteran rank 14. They did a holding pattern at VR14 until they scrapped it entirely at Dark brotherhood. Point being that the Craglorns were just from a different model of eso, one where actual level increases were happening instead of the CP system.

One reason the map outside of Belkarth seems empty is the sets really aren't good anymore. Air could use a slight duration increase. Martial could use a slightly shorter cooldown. Fire is just... euch...
