Were we spoiled by Summerset high res details?

Can't help but notice how Summerset details are so crisp, vivid and high resolution compared to Elsweyr. Especially tiles, doors and such. They look good from afar, but up close they kind of lose the detail and 3D. While in Alinor, for example, detail is stunning everywhere.

Sure Elsweyr looks promising and I'm glad we got it, but I always loved the graphics in ESO. Maybe my senses are overstimulated and I'm exaggerating here, but curious to know what fellow graphic nerds think.

Funny, one thing I noticed about Elsweyr was how I was actually impressed by how good it looks... the rock formations, Rimmen, the gorgeous aqueduct, etc. Also how it slowed down my FPS noticeably. I dont have a great comp though, and I´ve never been one to turn up the resolution. But maybe they had to turn down crispness in order to fit all the polygon linedefs in for the houses...

Summerset had the issue where all the rock formations in the zone looked very low quality compared to towns. However I think Elsewyr seems to have a more consistent quality, the southern side jungle area is really pretty and detailed. So maybe they spent their time trying to make the zone quality more consistent with town area quality.

Maybe polish up the older zones abit so they're somewhat on par with the newer zones?

I tend to disagree, I thought Elsweyr looked much more impressive than Summerset graphically, both in terms of atmosphere and textures. I'm not having any detail loss. I also feel like it runs much better than Summerset in spite of being so detailed as I'm not suffering from the FPS loss that only Summerset gives me.

But you'll never see the price it costs

Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream

Yeah the only thing that did impress me about summerset was how crisp everything looked, but it didn't look very Elder scrollish. Diametrically, Elsweyr looks very much like a Elder scrolls game, I think "better" is just a matter of taste.

Fair enough, I'm glad you all like it. Some fair points made. I'm yet to fully dive into it, quite possibly I was overhyped to the point of nitpicking. :) Surely, Summerset is one of my favourite zones, but then I'm an Altmer so it's understandable. ;)

I had the same feeling, and it's no computer issue (enough RAM, GFX and CPU for the next 5 years to come, I guess...)
Might have been some texture loading lag due to high population, who knows...

Summerset was the most vibrant and "clean" part of the game ever added. What I think has happened is that you saw that as an increase in expectation of quality assuming that they would do it again but even better in this next chapter.

The thing is, summerset is is the way it is because of the high elves themselves its mean't to be far more clean than everywhere else its meant to be far more vivid and such elsweyr not so much its more about lore there than visuals. I actually expected it to be like this all races have their own aesthetic.
Ah, e-communities - the "pinnacle" of the internet............yeah, right.

Same here. I prefer by far Elsweyr aesthetics and design than Summmerset but the textures are looking worst.

I suppose is due to server lag. Some of them doesn't seem to load correctly.
