NB Shadow Cloak starts at only 1 sec, not helpful

Our cloak used to start at 2.5 secs. They changed the passive to add 1 sec at shadow rank 39, and another 1 sec at rank 50. So 1 sec, then two, and finally three.
Until the passives kick in cloak is not an attractive skill. At 1 sec cloak you crouch down and stand right back up. Sneaking in pvp and even through delves isn’t practical at low levels.
On the PTS maybe people wouldn’t notice since you get all your passives and stuff right away.
If stealth is the NB signature ability, it’s a really poor mechanic early on.
Not sure how it feels at high levels. But at low levels it’s not working.

My NB is pretty high leveled and Shadow Cloak is pretty useless in endgame content. I only really use the ability for 3 things:If stealth is the NB signature ability, it’s a really poor mechanic early on.

- Remove my Aggro on mobs.
- Sneak attack.
As i've been saying for years there is no real point in putting this ability on a short timer since you de-cloak the moment you attack. It would solve everything if NB's could just stay invisible when they aren't attacking. I've played plenty of MMOs where this is a real thing and it's not gamebreaking. ✭✭You realize you can spam it to keep it up right? The lesser duration is effectively just increased cost/second. I don't fully disagree, any duration-based ability lasting only 1 second is a little silly, but you should be able to still keep it up for a reasonable amount of time.0 -
AyeshaBelladonna✭✭✭✭✭I regularly stay cloaked on my max level nb's. its useful because your attack coming out of stealth is a guaranteed crit. so if you are wearing a crit proc based setup it's invaluable at endgame. But as someone who's bread and butter is staying cloaked 90% of the time i can agree that the low level 1second now to start a fresh night blade is STUPID AF. it's completely unusable. even using my whole mag bar spamming it i cannot maintain any form of extended cloak. not even enough to break ago from something. This is ridiculous. and my morph starts out at 1 sec too? come on.... the stam heal morph is 6 secs to start.... give us a break here.NA EP CP1200+

This isn’t actually the case. At 1 sec even if you sit there and only spam cloak there is still a very short gap where you decloak before recloaking and mobs in pve will aggro and attack you. It is also almost impossible to get a veiled strike off while still cloaked to get the stun.
It be that it does work if your lag is very low, but mine isn’t so the above is the what I experience.0 -
Attackfrog✭✭✭For those that day it isn't "for end game content": maybe expand your concept of "end game" beyond dpsing vet dungeons and trials.
It's a key NB questing skill and probably key for many RPers too. I have thought it was too short since beta and it seems shorter now.
I don't use it in dungeons but for skyshard farming and (especially during this current event) sacraments and heists, it feel like a nerf. I used to use it all the time for overland questing on my magblades but the duration does seem nerfed. It doesn’t work like that.
You have to level the Shadow skill line to level 39 to get an extra one second and I believe Shadow 50 to get 3 seconds.0
