ESO Bugs - Every Thread I Make Gets Closed Or Discarded By Mods

Why?

It's apparently impossible to have an opinion. The game has too many bugs and not enough answers from developers.

- Load screens DURING combat and events
- Disconnects DURING combat and events
- Weapon Swap Bug
- Animation Bugs
- Cyrodiil is unplayable (and don't tell me its playable during off-hours, this is a keep taking game, it defeats the purpose)
- Queues are broken
- Mount bug, just get on your mount and watch it fail three times...

I want to know how it will be fixed. I made a ticket for a bug that was replicated by many players in my guild. You know what they told me? They can't help with bugs and told me to make a forum post in the bug forums and closed my ticket. Yeah, so I did that. Nobody has responded since my post was created... its been 7 days and its absolutely a game-breaking bug which makes you punch things instead of using your weapons all the while showing your weapons on the ground.

Nope. Nothing.

Please tell me how I am somehow wrong to believe that as a customer I deserve more than that. At the bare minimum an explanation, an acknowledgement, something resembling a professional staff would be pleasing.

ZOS, the Devs, and Support knows about those, but there's nothing you as a player are going to be able to do about most of those. Those are issues that are pretty built into how the game works (or doesn't work).

Load Screens during combat and events - yeah, that's been a problem for years in Cyrodiil. I'll get one at least once every night if I'm in a keep as the flags flip. If I'm lucky, I don't die while I'm in the loading screen.

Disconnects during combat - again, I get this one pretty often in Cyrodiil. Some nights, I only crash when we're riding into a heavily contested keep, which is something that impacts a lot of players when it comes to fights with lots and lots of players. Other nights, I'm disconnecting left and right. About the only thing I've found that helps is making sure my graphics card is absolutely up-to-date, but even that doesn't save me from DCs during heavy fighting.

Queues have been broken since...before the Undaunted event two years ago, and they still haven't fixed the Dungeon groupfinder. Battlegrounds likewise is a known bug, and they haven't commented on it, that I know of. The BG one is hard, because the easy workaround would be to lessen the penalty for leaving a match to account for people leaving failed matches...but then you run the risk of people just quitting out of bad matches when they are losing.

I haven't had your mount bug, I confess. I'm seeing lots of issues with Rapid Manuevers. Since Wrathstone, I can cast Rapids and while it goes out to the other members of my group, I'm not getting the buff myself. Its really odd, because it works sometimes and not others.

In any case, I've come to the realization that ZOS moves very, very slowly when it comes to fixing bugs AND they prefer not to acknowledge a bug until they have a fix ready to roll out.

I guess I am picky. I feel like when you give money for a product, especially entertainment, you want it to fulfill that value. For me... PvP is my fun outlet. I like PvE sure... but PvP is where the rush is. I just want to be able to actually enjoy it. My first scroll run I was disconnected twice before the cap which was pretty disheartening. I spent all this time reading, learning, doing math on builds only to get out there and realize that I wasn't going to die to just players online. Game mechanics or issues were also going to kill me repeatedly.

I am understanding of bugs... just not perpetual ones I suppose. Community acknowledgment goes a long way towards a long-term solution.

I didn't think of this until I read your reply.

ZOS is attempting some long-term solutions to Cyrodiil. Unfortunately, I don't really see them working out.

Namely, ZOS has stated that one of the major factors in causing the Cyrodiil lag is having big faction-stack fights. So they've taken some steps to spread out the fights to different objectives. They buffed Dragonclaw, Drakelowe, and Brindle. They added 3 new outposts and made the 3 PVP towns more important. They added the collapsible milegate and bridges to funnel players down alternate paths.

Unfortunately, I don't think its worked, precisely because some objectives are more important than others. The Emp ring keeps still see the majority of the fighting. Scroll takes still draw tons of players because of the value of the scroll at 10 points each. Cyrodiil's PVP still rewards working together as a faction stack or being in a large organized raid or semi-organized zerg (by design, since the zone is supposed to be for groups of 2 to 24 players).

We'll see how removing IC from Cyrodiil works out, if that's a good benefit.

But what I take away from all that - and I may be wrong here - is that ZOS really doesn't know how to tackle the lag except by trying to change player behavior and entice them to spread out across the map instead of large groups fighting over the same important objectives.

They could make more emp keeps what to spread them out, is say do this, require six of the keeps but add drakelowe, Brindle and Dragonclan as optional keeps for emp. This really would change things and spread out the fighting for sure. As factions would have to defend all these keeps. They would become important.

They are aware of all of those bugs. Here are some bugs I have been waiting for statements on:

ZOS' official Long loading screen megathread for infinite loadscreens / loadscreens into a crash (Nov 2017) - https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/380707/main-thread-for-long-loading-screens

    Sprint bug thread (January 2018) - https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/392283/2h-attack-bug-na-ps4-causes-character-lockout#latest

Resource drain bug (from before March 2018) - https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/399843/random-resource-drain-still-not-fixed

On top of this - Stuck in combat bug, group finder problems, disconnecting when a zerg arrives in Cyrodiil, general disconnect problems and login issues, skill lag and general server lag / ping spikes, etc.

At this point I'm sure they're aware and still not fixing it. They probably don't know what causes some of the bugs. For example the rez bug in vet Cloudrest trial, we're already on the next expansion and it's still there

To be fair, customer support is pretty poor in general for all kinds of businesses. They don't know how to understand the information on tickets beyond simple, easily reproduced solutions because most reps don't know how to use the product their company makes.

They have "customer service" training and experience, which means they're trained to close tickets after barely reading them and pawn customers off onto website help pages or automated systems. In the event you do actually speak to one or correspond with one through email they rarely are willing or capable of helping you.

It's not a Zenimax problem, it's an industry standard. You can blame it on outsourcing, poor training, greedy companies and cheap customers. Bottom line: don't count on customer service for anything, and if you ever do have a good experience with a CS rep anywhere, savor it.

many of the bugs being discussed are actually features designed to fix something that was way worse than the bug.
    Stuck in combat = feature
load screens during combat = feature
    weapon swap bug = feature
crashing when entering an over populated keep = a feature

why do u call it bugs on performance issues.

bugs are those like when you mount, you can't use maneuver until you re-mount. Or being stuck in combat for 5 minutes after any interaction stopped. Or when you equip mage's guild spells and the passive magicka applies to the other bar that doesn't have the spell equipped. Or ... etc, i can go on.

I play in Cyrodiil almost exclusively, so for me the biggest problem so far is the combat bug. There is nothing more frustrating that getting into a short battle then being unable to mount for the next 10-20 minutes which reduces you to cooling your heels at some keep or running on foot to the next objective, which then exposes you to attack.

I am convinced that this isn't a bug but a designed feature the mods put in to slow down gameplay. I would think it would be better to look for ways to improve the game's performance rather than force players into ridiculous situations like that.

One of the worst group finders in any modern MMO.

Why they haven't completly redone it in the 5 years its been fundamentally broken is beyond me.

Pure laziness and bad team assignments.

More interested in putting out new products to sell than it is in fixing long term bugs.
