I.... hmmm. I don't remember really how I got Mak to look the way he does, and I'm not in game now so can't get a screenshot. I can post one tomorrow?

I can say that I generally set the face between angular and heroic (a little closer to angular I think). I make the chin fairly small, and set the mouth to curved with lips half-full. I set jaw width as low as possible, and cheekbones and cheekbone height about halfway. Eyebrows I set up as far as possible, and as deep as possible. Eye height is as low as possible, as are chin and mouth.

Hairstyle, hair color, eye color, eyebrows - those would be to your taste. Body - I made him as tall as I could, buffed chest, flat gut, smallest waist scale, smallest butt and posterior dimension (think football player). I think he looks good. I'll post a pic tomorrow, but I don't have slider positions, sorry.

Redguard is the most attractive male race IMO.

Try setting the facial triangle to the lower middle part (can't remember what the variables on the corners are). That usually works for any race. Otherwise they look too angry with over-the-top facial characteristics.

This is very true. And yeah, I think that's pretty close to where I set it.... You know, it's REALLY annoying that if you forget to screenie the sliders, you can't get them back.... and I always forget!

Those of us who love Redguards don't have any interest in going there.

Now, I do have males of other races (just recently) but when you need a Redguard other races just won't do.

Only those who were around while the racial patch hit live got those.

I actually keep some of those tokens to be able to see the sliders.

For guys, I can imagine some people doing that.

Now for some of my gals, not using the full range of certain sliders would feel like a waste of, erm... potential. o:)

Start with the chin. Up, up and away. Narrow it to suit.
In the extreme Soft corner for the overall.
Slide the brow depth right off.

    Lock those facial changes in
Lock all your body changes in.

Back to facial and randomise until you get a feature that you like; then lock that in.
    Repeat until happy.

There's a trick I always use when creating characters, a sort of beauty factoid I learned while dating someone who worked in the cosmetology field.

Basically, the distance from the bottom of the chin to the bottom of the nose should be the same as the distance from the bottom of the nose to the mid brow which should be the same distance as from the brow to the hairline.

It's science! Something to do with it making it easier for our brains to see the face as a whole rather than focusing on the individual parts. Idk, I just remember her measuring my face like a weirdo while explaining it. But! It works, I used to be pretty mediocre at best when creating character faces in games, but ever since applying that rule to my creations I've able to make attractive characters pretty consistently.

They have lousy bodyshapes, unless you really want to be short and fat. in which case, they do a great job.

I've never been happy with the results for Breton or Nord facial outcomes.
Bosmer and Redguard give the best body physiques as far as I am concerned, even when built as overweight.

    possibly.

I was going to suggest the sound scientific view, not one from cosmetics...

eyebrows should be level with the tops of the ears
mouth should be level with the bottom of the ears

sorry i think im too dumb for this but how do i know the distance?

I just hold my hand up to the screen creating a gap between my thumb and index finger and make sure the gap stays the same size over all three sections.

I'm just playing that sounds solid too.

You think you have problems, try making female characters that look like they can do something with a sword other than drag it around, why does this game like so many others have such a stick up it’s backside about physically capable females! I’m married to six feet of the most wonderful lady, I met here at a reinactors using a 160 pound Glamorgan longbow (seriously, I used the whole lifetimes worth of luck in one go) and I don’t doubt for a moment she could take and woman in eso apart with her bare hands

By trying another two hours, and another, and another - as much fiddling around as it takes.
Don't be afraid to comepltely dump your slider settings and try something new!
Also, mess around with the triangle settings on top - those can have a LOT of effect, moreso then the sliders even in many cases.

Totally agree. Nords, Imperials and Bretons all look a bit derp TBH.

Redguards? Not a problem. Pretty good looking blokes. LOL

@Sylvermynx thank you for posting those sliders. Like the OP I was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to refine the features of a redguard even though I wanted one. The lips would always come out too full for the character I had in mind but maybe using your settings as a base I can finally come up with one I like :)

It depends on the overall look you want. I used a medium skin tone and the most angular face setting, then thinned the nose and lips and made my Redguard look Polynesian. He's handsome IMO.
