✭There will probably be scheduled maintenance. Server will be down. It will be up and ready to download whenever the maintenance is done, which can be a few hours or more. Basically, don't make any plans to take off work. Leave your launcher up while you're way so it can download while you're gone. These patch days can drag on for quite a while.9 -

✭✭✭✭✭I thought it was going to be 5/20, but I just purchased it last night and was told 5/21, with consoles getting access 2 weeks later on 6/4 (instead of 6/3).
Anyway, yes, it will be available as soon as the maintenance is over and the servers are back up-- then you have to wait while your computer downloads and applies the new content.
And THEN you have to deal with lag-- massive amounts of lag-- because everybody and his (or her) dog (or bear or chicken or vvardvark or whatever) will be in Elsweyr.I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!0 -

david_m_18b16_ESO✭✭✭✭✭I don,t get why they don't copy what blizzard do with WoW. The whole expension is downloaded a few days prior the lunch so you just have to install it when the time is due.
They proceed to do a little patch a few days upon release to correct a few bugs.
When BFA has been released most player had a 5mins downtimes only. But the problem is the game was garbage.1 -

It's possible they've already got the update and everything downloaded and installed, just have whatever patches and updates they need to apply to the live version on Monday. Reduce the downtime and download size.2 -

Yeah the real issue with BFA wasnt the downtime, it was the time you were forced to play.2 -

Because they will probably still be changing/adding/removing stuff up to 30mins before the server restart!
