Confused about Elsweyr

Some people suggesting it has some kind of early release on the 20th?

Is this true or am I just listening to rubbish sources. Thanks.

There’ll be early release on Monday. Zos has done early release for PC for the last two chapters, Morrowind and Summerset. It’s nothing new.

You just need to have purchased it. Starting Monday, if you have Elsweyr (on PC) you'll be able to play it. You can buy it that day, if you care to.

(Someone is very welcome to tell me I'm wrong - but I don't think there's a pre-order "you must have purchased before x date" requirement.)

You may be able to travel there on the 20th …

It does depend on how long Tamriel is asleep for. Expect a long downtime and possibly a large download afterwards.

Don't make any actual firm plans for the Monday evening perhaps no.

Tuesday however should be fine (crossing paws).

^ Precisely. Tempting as it is to take Monday off work, I've been bitten by launch day woes in the past.

The Wednesday/Thursday following a release is usually a good day for a 24-hour flu, though.

If you bought through Steam, you'll need to use their storefront. Otherwise, if you bought a physical copy, or if you bought through the website, you can click on Store in the upper left hand corner of this page, and select from the Elsweyr options. (Specifically, you're looking for either the "Elsweyr Digital Upgrade" or the "Elsweyr Digital Collector’s Edition Upgrade." The CE upgrade has a few extra goodies, and you can check the entry to see if you think they're worth ten bucks.)

Just be careful which version you want to buy:

In addition to the above, digital pre-purchases of the full Elsweyr Collector’s Edition and Standard Edition (not Upgrades) provides immediate access to ESO base game, Morrowind Chapter, and Summerset Chapter. The Collector’s Edition will also include the Collector’s Edition items for each Chapter, too. Note that these editions will continue to include Morrowind and Summerset post-launch, but the only way to get immediate access before launch is by digitally pre-purchasing them.

Finally, all digital pre-purchases will also receive immediate access to an otherworldly in-game steed: the Rahd-m’Athra mount. Physical pre-orders of Elsweyr will still receive the Rahd-m’Athra mount reward, but not until the game launches on June 4.

It's not quite an early release, all the platforms are released at once. More it's a two week delay on consoles since MS and Sony have to vet the new content before the consoles can receive it.

Basically if you've pre purchased Elsweyr in any form on PC you will be able to join the early access in Monday the 20th. If you've purchased it and it shows you own Elsweyr when you log into your account on the website on the right hand side of the page, then you're in the clear to join early access.

Yes, you'd get the upgrade if you already own the base game. The collector's edition upgrade will get you some extra stuff.

Well we all can be certain of.
*Mass game bugs will be out in force, and stay for a few months.
*server performance will continue to degrade even further. Unplayable in some countries
*content will be recycled, nothing new
*new class will be op until next dlc
*loading screens will be common place
*blue screens will be your best friend

Are you seeing Elsweyr on your account screen right now or will it show after updating May 20th? I bought on Amazon and am still seeing Summerset icon.

Its not "early release", its normal release then delayed release for consoles cause Sony and Microsoft has content verification crap that takes weeks.
