Why ZOS? Daily resets

Sorry, i'm pissed, think that you're a freelancer and really don't know were you gonna have time to play the game, and like a normal player have to enter the game to take Daily Reward, do Daily Dungeons, improve the horse, do Pledges, but wait... wait what? Some things always resets 2:00AM EDT but others only after 20h you did it?

WHYYYY? God just do all Daily reset on 2:00AM EDT, because GOD, it's terrible have 4 Character and every of them have a different Horse/Daily Random reset

That's why i stop doing Daily Random on High Level Characters and sometimes lost 1 day of Horse improvement on others, now answer me, why set every daily to reset 2:00AM EDT, like everything else so people don't have to worry doing it on a different time from the others characters wouldn't work?

There's "daily" things that reset at the same time each day, and there are others with a 20hr cooldown from when you last did them that aren't "daily" at all.

Most of the "daily" things are different each day, like the Undaunted Pledges. Those need to be on a time-of-day reset, so that groups of players all get the same one at the same time.

Mount training doesn't need an synchronizing. You're ready for more after 20 hours, regardless of other players.

Yeah, and yesterday i didn't had time to enter on day, so i need to do at night, now my Daily random and Horse up is set do reset at night, so now that i have time on day i have to wait it get dark for me to do everything, and same thing tomorrow, because only one day i couldn't do on a good hour

Why even worry about such things? Just play the game and fit things like pledges and mount training around that rather than trying to fit your game time around them. People take these things far too seriously.

What is funny is Zos added a timer letting you know when your daily fence limit resets but they seem to not give a rats patootie about giving us trackers for when our various things resent like the undaunted daily. It is just part of Zos not thinking things through at all as part of the great leadership Matt provides the team.

They are totaly "daily". 20hr cooldown is there so you have more freedom to do them. If it was 24hr, they would crawl forward each day and thats annoying.

You cant do thrm ever 20hr to get 5 upgrade ever 4 day unless you are no lifer(%99 of players wont botter).

Abolish timers would be a literal exploit for people with a lot of money and time, what i want is just that they had a Set Reset time for horse and Random, just like the Pledges and Writs, so no matter what time on day you did the damn thing, it would reset on 2:00AM EDT.

That because sometimes i can't do on day and have to do late night, the problem is the other day i can't do at night, BUT IT NOW RESET AT NIGHT so i have to just let it go and wait to do the other day. That's pain if you're leveling a Character or if you want to walk on Cyrodill, because without the horse upgrades you would be better walking... the damn deadlands

But yes, i understand that you all don't want it because.... uhmm.... Sotha Sil Rules?

I live on Brazil as we're in the middle of a crisis i'm a freelancer, if you don't know what it's basically i get any job that appears, there's no way i know what time i need to work and when i come back, sometime i awake on 6AM and come back 12AM, sometime 14AM and come back 7PM, on a hard time awake 5AM come back 9-10PM, sometimes i don't work, my hours in life is already random, i don't need my character hours being random :)

But this thread was basically because i'm leveling a character, when i got on CP i normally stop doing Random (Because of time reset), the trouble only come back when i'm up a character

Skip a day, login the next day and do all things with your characters at the same time.

Guess what now all timers going forward will be on your time. If you login each day at that same time and do them.

Edit to add I do agree with you, all of the things daily quests, battlegrounds, horses, Remain-Silent sales... all should be on a same daily reset time.

But by doing this yourself it kinda helps, I login in do all writs. Check all mail. Horse feed if needed etc. with each guy back to back. Before I even start my real play session.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

Everything that can be done daily should follow the same reset. It is ridiculous that some things reset on a timer while other things reset at a specific time. Everything should just reset at a specific time. Not everyone has a consistent schedule that allows them to login to the game at a regular time each day. The 20 hour timers are an absolute nightmare if you're logging in at wildly different times from day to day.

Literally the only downside to ditching the 20 hour timers in favor of a specific reset time is that the truly hardcore no lifer can't get an extra horse training in once every 5 days.

A standardization of reset timers would be very much appreciated. The preferred solution would be putting everything at 20.00 CET, but the current daily reset timer would also be okay. But please, get rid of the 20 h cooldowns.

That means I miss out one night a week on everything. Do I care? No because it will all be there for me the next night. It's a matter of how someone is trying to bring his point across.
If the OP would have calmly suggested to synchronize every timer, he would not have seen this kind of rely. But saying "I'm a freelancer and the other day I could not log on before x so I missed doing y, why on earth don't you change this?" as if anyone in the world gives a flying f*ck about his work schedule is a bit inane.

Honestly it is a little annoying that the timers are all different but I think it is for the best.

20 hour timers works because tomorrow I may be playing a little earlier on one character then I am on another. So things like horse training and random dungeons can be done before a full 24 hours. 20 hour timers give the player a little more flexible to do those things. Say maybe I forgot to train my horse one day on a particular character until right before I logged off for the day. Then tomorrow I would have to remember to do after the full 24 hours and the time may not be up but since real life things happens and I can’t pay as late that day as I did before then I will completely lose horse training for that day but with 20 hours it gives me some flexibility to train my horse.

The one a day items like undaunted and writs and zone daily quest are only allowed once per daily so a hard counter works well for them.

What is frustrating is not having a timer could down for the 20 hour activities that is easy and convenient to see for each character.

FYI for those that do not know it I believe that enlightment is different for everyone. It resets around the time you first hit CP on your first character. Mine is a few minutes before 10am and when time changes it will be before 9am.

Not a big deal but I wouldn't mind if horse training lined up with the same daily reset time as many other daily things.

Whats stopping you from training your horse(s) at the same time every day?
You want your horse on a 24 hour timer, so feed it every 24 hours.

I generally like to log in early in the morning and do my game 'chores'. Any external events I may have in the morning or extended maintenance/patch updates disrupt this for me about once a week or two. As I said, not a big deal but would prefer a daily reset instead of 20 hour time.

I think you should let them know what time suits u and the rest of the world can work around that.

oh that is such a nonsensical reply. does 2 am eastern time for for you for pledges? I'm assuming it does, so WHY ARE YOU AGAINST EVERYTHING RESETTING AT THAT SAME TIME, EXACTLY?

what exactly is the point of having so many different resets that you can't even really track properly unless you quite literally start using a spreadsheet or something like that. WHAT IS THE POINT? why shouldn't we have all resets synchronized?

heck I don't even care if they synchronize them to daily login rewards, just as long as everything is at the same time. I don't think i will ever understand people who are against THAT.

I am not sure what you are trying to say but I will try to respond. 9 times out of 10 maintenance occurs at 6pm just after I get home from work. That means I miss out one night a week on everything. Do I care? No because it will all be there for me the next night. And I can tell my partner that I am giving the game a miss tonight to spend time with you. Would I rather her response or spend my time cursing that I am missing out on writs pledges etc? You guess.

and I'm not sure how this has any relevance to your original snide response to request made to make all the resets happen on the same time of the day? whether they do or don't, your situation doesn't change on maintenance days or any other days. but it does change for the better for a whole lot of people.

It's a matter of how someone is trying to bring his point across.
If the OP would have calmly suggested to synchronize every timer, he would not have seen this kind of rely. But saying "I'm a freelancer and the other day I could not log on before x so I missed doing y, why on earth don't you change this?" as if anyone in the world gives a flying f*ck about his work schedule is a bit inane.

except they are not the only one with this work schedule and it is absolutely relevant because current reset system is only.... ok for people whose schedules are exactly the same every day. people with variable schedules like OP - end up falling behind.

did we forget already the situation with rewards during undaunted event, you know the ones tied to completion of first daily of the day. situation that worsened when they added indrik tickets to the mix? or does this only bother you when you are the one affected by it negatively?

    please. stop with tone policing.
