People, who begged for it no matter what, thought that they will give them all Sykshards in a nice, tidy package for 1k crowns. What they've got is skyshard packs for each zone for +1.5k Crowns. ZoS and the devs are not your friends, get that into your heads, Jesus...☒ None
People asked for them so they got added, but it's going to be a devil's deal.
- The cost is going to be crazy high, like the 1500 crowns per outfit slot.
- Sky Shard Packs will most likely be added to Crown Crates to further dilute the real prizes.
- Sky Shard Packs will most likely be added to the monthly Log In Rewards as occasional Starred items, further diluting those rewards as well.
Players got what they asked for, but ZOS is going to win from every angle.

They don't decide prices (or anything else) based on forum polls but you can always just make a new one.
This one is turning more and more into a discussion about racism anyway.

I would not buy ALL of the skyshards. I might buy a zone but ...
Skyshards are easy to get and going to the zones to get them provides useful XP which causes valuable leveling for my character. I also have time for that and I like opening up the places zones.
That said, if I had less time to play, I would consider buying a zone or two if they are CHEAP and if I needed some skill points.
So, from my point of view, buying skyshards is a convenience. I'm not likely to take advantage of it, but who knows. I think I would be most likely to buy a zone if I am PVP'ing on a lowbie and out of skill points.
Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »I think this is going to be interesting how they price this. I have about 10 toons that could admittedly use around 50 skill points or so. The only motivation is so they would be able to have skill points for writs, and to be able to actually play a character. In my experience, most of my toons can do one or the other, but not both upon reaching level 50 and getting undaunted leveled.
Now typically what I do is that I park about 9-10 of my toons each patch, and just set them up for writs. That leaves me with a tank, healer, mag DPS, Stam DPS, PVP, and likely 1-2 others that can actually play. I have all/most skyshards on 4 of my characters at this point.
Each zone is worth basically 5 skill points (not counting crag or cyro). So lets say I want 50 skill points on a toon, you are basically talking about buying all 10 of your none-faction zones, which also fits because usually, I grab all my faction shards when I level a character. I usually also do ALL the public dungeons for the group event skill point and the extra skyshard. I am also looking at doing that potential 10 times, potentially upwards of 100 skyshard bundles that I would theoretically by.
I of course dont see any scenario where I buy all of them at once. But lets say they come out way cheaper than we expect and they cost 500 crowns each. There is probably a good chance that over the next year or so, that I buy quite a lot of them. You are looking at 50,000 crowns, which while definitely a lot, I think I am sitting on about 40k right now that I dont really use. Point is, I bet I spend a fair amount very quickly. It also fits because you could outright buy the 500 crowns for about 100k gold, which is pretty inline in terms of how long it would take to grind the gold vs grind the skyshards.
Conversely, let's say they cost 5000 crowns each. Well, it doesnt matter because there is no chance I would buy any of them and Zero times anything is well, ZERO. Now you are looking at about a 1,000,000 gold as your opportunity cost. Unless I find something really juicy in the trader or pull a cypher, I can clear a zone of skyshards way faster than I can make a million gold.
