At cp 988...I haven't looked at it in a long while. After level 160 I only looked once every day or 2 to put in new points.

On new alts I'm forced to notice more in the beginning because of the new leveling system, but before that was in place: meh, I could level up, or not, didn't bother me until it was time for new gear or a new skill had popped up to use.

Edit: forgot 2nd part of question...

I have no idea what would help at this point 😋

Way above the current Champion Point limit, and it wasn't raised with the last update either, so it's lost any actual meaning getting more of them. I'm not fussed at all about having a really high CP amount, yes some might have 1300CP and I've got only 968 despite playing ESO from the second week it came out, with few breaks, but so what.
Life is a ride, like days in a train, cities rush by, like ghosts in the night.
The rhythm of wheels, time fades away, stations of a journey, destination unknown.

I am way, WAY above the CP cap and have stopped caring about CP about two and a half years ago. I reached the cap when it was still 501 and I have been way above the cap every time they raised it since then. I have no idea to make that better, because I like that they don't raise the cap higher for now and I am satisfied with my characters as they are.

I don't like levelling Alts and I always look for ways to reach Level 50 as fast as possible, with me buying 200 Alchemy Writs over the last few days so I can get my Necromancer to max Level within less than 1.5 hours on patch day..
So yes, you could say that I am excited whenever a new level is reached.

I love how its done in ESO. Just because, your level doesnt matter. You are not limited by the small number next to your Character. And I really love it.

I am still happy when I level up with a Character, because it means I get another skill point and another Attribute point.

But other than that, I noticed that I barely look at my level in ESO. And I love that. I just go and train with Weapons I want to master, search for treasures and Skyshards, help people in need and do whatever I like to do, and every now and then, i get a new skillpoint.

I really like the system we have.

I haven't been excited for a champion point since the update that took away vet ranks, and I was only excited that I would be able to hit gear cap after the update. I'm not even 810 yet, and I've been playing off and on since console release.

Stat increases are boring, it'd be nice if investing my champion points fundamentally changed the way I play the game. Something like adding extra effects to certain types of skills, adding passives that made an unconventional armor setup, like 2/2/3, useful, and maybe even something that gave me the option to make overworld questing more difficult.

I am absolutely afraid of leveling my new Necro next patch, because I dont want to kill everything in less than a second. I want to be challenged. I want a leveling experience.
Add a Scribing skill that works like Arcanist beam.
    ---
Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.
    ---
Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.

Leveling my first character now, so I like getting the skill points but mostly I'm a bit uneasy with the idea that I could be investing them on the wrong things. I've already changed weapon twice.

I think this is mostly because I'm not sure how many I will get in total, or how difficult they are to come by as you progress in the game, past level 50.

I'm also not so sure how to build a rotation, if I want a magika or stamina build, or what skills to unlock first. I'm not sure following the guide is the best idea. Seems a bit all over the place and it doesn't factor in crafting on the skill points spending, so I'm improvising as I go along.

    Basically noob problems

I love leveling alts, I can run with cp160-300 guys and not lose on killing mobs and dungeon boss.

I really like ressing them when I the lvl 10 is the only one left fighting the dungeon boss lols.

For me leveling is already fun as it is.

Launch level progression and dare I say it veteran rank progression felt exciting, I wanted to hit those levels.

Current base progression is okay for your first time, but feels kind of meh for any additional characters. CP levels are boring and I've never been excited for them.

Levels themselves feel dull... numbers being added to numbers to make... slightly higher numbers.

Skill points feel juicier because they unlock abilities directly. Your character can now do something new, or in a different way (morph). That feels much more satisfying to me than the purely numerical approach.

For this reason, the only part of the CP system that felt like a reward were the passive unlocks. And those care far too infrequently after the first 1-2 in each branch.

I’d love a more narrative approach to character progression. We’ll never get it though. The endgame PvE and PvP communities would lose their minds.

No. At well over CP cap more CP means nothing.

Additionally, I have never been really bothered by levels. They really only have an effect in terms of enabling you to access new content (eg Cyrodiil at L10) or skills (eg alliance war L7 means my character never has to do PvP again or Undaunted L9 means I never have to do a PvE dungeon). Aside from enabling me to access content, my level is a matter of total indifference to me.

The only really important level is CP160 after which any gear you find has some value.

My current level has never had any impact on my enjoyment of the game. So I’m not really sure what the point would be of making getting a new CP more ‘exciting’.

It feels good to hit level 50, and then again at 160. Other than that, leveling mostly sucked because it actually meant you got a little weaker due to gear degradation.
Unlocking a new skill or morph, those are the real 'ding!' moments in this game.

I don't mind it, I just want to hit max level as soon as I can. Once at max level there is plenty of progression left for me anyway: mage's guild, psijic, undaunted etc.

In the past, I used to see XP as a side effect of playing the game, not as a goal itself. A nice bonus.

But in ESO... Level is insignificant. It doesn't provide even half the skill points you'll need. Conversely, you can be maxed on the level and CP, and still need to up some skill lines. XP, levels and actual character strength are entirely decoupled, so I don't even care at all.

However, I find it EXTREMELY annoying that I need to level some skill lines to unlock skills. I don't care about skill 1, but I must use it so I gain some XP in that skill so I can start using skill 3 later on. Boring.

As for leveling... I've leveled and deleted more characters than I can count. Because of what I just described, actual testing of a concept takes a lot of time. And sometimes, the concept sucks...

    faster everything.

No storekeeper, I can't wait for you to finish sweeping/eating the end of a bread stick/mysteriously scribbling/not serving customers.

No, random NPC, I don't want you to appear from nowhere and block my path.

yes, random low-level-creature, I do expect you to drop something after some effort expending in killing you.

No, random NPC enemy(ies), I don't want you to follow me halfway across the planet and interrupt me and use all my reserves only to go "oh, wrong cell!" and run back invincibly to whence thou camest.

But it really dont matter no more.

While I'm not at cp cap(only at 500) leveling doesn't really mean much. If anything leveling an alt is a pain gear wise. Do I burn through to 50 and then not worry about changing gear while doing quests, or take my time and have to change gear every few days.

    When it comes to leveling

Attribute system is bland, often just all in one pile - so that is underwhelming, getting an attribute point is just something to set and forget.

Skill system is good - so that is interesting, but ultimately I get so many skill points off the bat that it is not the overall level that gets my interest, it is the skill line level that has my interest.

CP System - I stopped caring after CP810.

    What I'd do is
    1) Come to terms with the attribute system being trivial, scrap it, buff enchants on armor to make up the difference.
    2) Do nothing with skill point system, that is decent.
    3) Replace the CP system with meaningful RPG mechanic to cater for the lack of 1).

    Eso + : +10% XP
XP scrolls : +50% XP, or more if you use the strong one.
XP pots : lots more, dependin g on which you use.

You can easily triple the amount of XP you gain, especially if there is some sort of XP event going on. Then, you unplug your brain and go on dolmen farming 2 hours, and there you go, you're at the very least halfway. And I mean XP wise, not level wise.

Now, if that person meant litteraly 2 hours, I'm not sure it's enough. Maybe they just meant "a few hours".

    Steps
    1) Have lots alchemy mats / Enchant glyph made by your main
    2) Level either (or both) to 50 with crafting / decon spam
    3) Load up your bank / inventory with Alchemy / Enchant writs
    4) Use Writworthy to craft as many of them as your inventory allows
    5) Pop all XP buffs
    6) Cash them all in

Somewhere before that you'd need to acquire enough skill points to fill Alchemy, use skill points acquired from leveling to put into Enchanting.

    Level very quickly.

I don't do that, I level a character starting as a tank, and get all the skill points in dungeons before 50.

Never have I seen a development team leave progression and alternate advancement stagnate like this. It's no wonder there is no permanent community . Personaly Matt frior should have been let go long ago for this short sighted vision. Fixing it ? Meh... they already answered your question with the announcement of a new IP and a new MMO . Eso is in its twilight years they are only planning in 18 month blocks now not 5 year plans.

I just hit 810 the other day. I was power leveling during the anniversary event with the xp cake and xp scrolls to reach 810. But it's kind of a hollow achievement now that I'm there, because I've still got tons of quests I need to do that are incredibly easy.

Forward progression for the sake of progression draws me in. What would make me more excited in lieu of level progression would be more challenging solo content.

I mostly PVP, so I hate, with the fire of 1000 suns, leveling alts. It's terrible, mind-numbingly boring.... even if you do story content/skyshard collecting/dungeons and delves and don't grind the doldrum anchors.

I'm beyond CP cap, (somewhere around 950, I think) and would gladly pay for the option to start a toon at level 50. Just make it so that option isn't available until you hit max CP. If a player has at least one toon maxed, they obviously understand the game and builds and really shouldn't be burdened or penalized for starting another toon.

seriously, ZOS needs to do something
