What's the current feeling toward Elsweyr?

40$ for a dlc? no thanks. Not wanting necromancer so it doesnt seem worth it to me. Give me warden class with it instead and i'll consider it.

It's not a dlc, it's a whole expansion with new class and questlines and new areas aswell as new housing and furnishings and a whole lot more.

They define it as a "Chapter" which are just DLCs renamed so they can charge for them directly rather than allow access to them through ESO+.

Whether they be called Chapters or DLCs, all Q2 and Q4 expansions bring a new zone. All new zones have their own questlines, new areas, new housing, and furnishings. Beyond that, Elsweyr does not bring "a whole lot more".

Anything Elsweyr is bringing, both Morrowind and Summerset brought something similar. Elsweyr lacks the additional major features brought by previous Chapters such as the Battlegrounds PVP mode of Morrowind and Jewelry Crafting system of Summerset.

The thieves guild was a dlc, summerset an expansion or chapter if you prefer. Elsweyr is not a dlc. Elsweyr is an expansion or chapter so what is your issue ? Trying to corect me and i dont care about the price i always gladly pay for my expansions and eso plus too. Eso is worth it to me. 😊😊😊🌻🌻🌻

My feeling is that Elsweyr is on the right, kind of over there in that direction.

If you pass the grocery store, you missed it.

It IS a DLC. It's a single zone, no bigger than any DLC zone. The only difference is that it also adds a class. Morrowind, in its time, was marketed as a "chapter" too, and that was because it did add sooooo much, it couldn't classify as a DLC, oh no my precious... But all in all, it's just one more zone, with one more class.

And, lo and behold, today Morrowind is classified as a DLC. Still not included into ESO+, though. And the class is sold separately.

Summerset ? A new zone, no bigger than any DLC zone, but adds a new craft that should have been included in the game from launch. So, it's so very much not a DLC, right ?

Calling a single zone with a little bonus a "chapter" is just a marketing ploy to milk us even more.

    Just my opinion, but:

They seem to have lost inspiration and are just patching these Wyverns, Necromancy and Khajiit together since they weren't doing too well money-wise, and this will bring them money. These 3 things almost seem to originally be meant for 3 different DLC's, but they couldn't wait any longer, since business wasn't doing well. (it probably is now)

They call Wyverns for "dragons" and only included half the zone of Elsweyr.
My feeling is: ".. they could have figured out something better, but it'll be alright."

Hopefully we'll see the rest of Elsweyr later this year through.

My view of Elsweyr will depend on what we end up with for "class balance"

    So far, I'm not optimistic

as a Magika Templar, should i be worried?

I play m. templar and I will probably shelve it next update. Actually I'll just quit mag all together since there is no longer any reason to not use stam after all the nerfs they continue to hand out.

Well I’m looking forward to it. Cats and dragons - all good. Don’t even mind about necromancers which is a class I have absolutely no real interest in.

Been here long enough to have dealt with many nerfs/buffs/“it’s the end of the world” after different dlcs/chapters, and wonder that some seem to take the game so seriously that they can’t change & adapt 😕

I don't do trials or pvp so I don't really care about the nerfs or the size of my epeen. Really looking forward to this. None of the chapters have disappointed me so far (well apart from turning Nocturnal into cliche villian no 24...).
So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

It brings a new class? Sure not as impressive but it also brings a new zone that us FAR more detailed then any dlc zone. Besides 40 for an upgrade is not bad considering most companies charge 60 for something COMPLETELY unfinished.

And so does the Hobbit, Game of Thrones, Disney's Dragon Slayer, Skyrim, Reign of fire and many more. So who cares it is a Wyvern. It flies and breathes fire. That's good enough for me.

The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Im not buying it. My guild quit because of it and moved to other games.

I would be willing to bet that this will be the lowest selling of the Expansions.

I will get it when its free after the ton of nerfs it will go thru (which most of you will pay for) and all the new buzz wears off.

Your guild quit because an expansion came out?

So far yes. They did statistically well with the racial rebalance. I hope they do well with class balance.

    Necromancer looks awesome.

I love Dragons and Khajit have always been among some of my fav races in TES.

And lots of goodness for PvP which they often push aside.

My feeling about Elsweyr? The lesson I have learned over the last few years about major updates/DLC/Chapters is to dread them because each one renders my game less fun. I work hard to make my characters reasonably effective and fun to play only to see that I am building on a foundation of sand where the rules change quarterly.

Whatever content they may provide is not worth swapping out one set of nerfs for another in a futile effort to balance the game. At +5 years old if the game is not balanced now, what would make one possibly think the next series of balance-nerfs will improve things?

I’m not terribly interested in cat people or dragons.
Dragons are cool, cats are funny, but neither are in my wheelhouse.
The racial update ruined my enthusiasm. I’ve also been on the PTS fighting dragons and I’m not feeling it. We’ll see when it comes out if my mind has changed.

Nerf everything to make necro more appealing and op. Sort of like they did with warden and Morrowind.

I’m looking forward to it, but at the same time, I really don’t understand the pricing. It seems to offer about as much content as murkmire, and that was given away for free.

Elsweyr is nothing but a small DLC. You are just paying tons of money for necro class. Morrowind was the best. I dont have hype for Elsweyr. I got bored when I entered PTS.
