Would you like an OPTION for caves and quest dungeons to be instanced?

There are a lot of quests that take you into little instances and of course there are the little delves as they call them (caves) - and there are a lot of times I just wish I could run these by myself or with a party having it instanced to us. It's KIND of cool in a way, but the coolness factor is overshadowed by the immersion killing and frustration of having endless hordes of others steamrolling through the content I want to experience naturally. I WANT a challenging boss fight at the end of a quest or delve and not have10-15 people standing around it killing it in seconds. I want to be able to take my time and advance the quest as I see fit, instead of running into an area and having it auto-advanced by someone else engaging the quest boss I'm supposed to be fighting. It's just very frustrating to me.

If you like it - that's awesome. Which is why I'm asking for the OPTION to run these things as a personalized instance if you want to. an OPTION.

I agree, it would be a lot more fun to get a proper challenge at the end of a cave rather than throwing two hits for a piece of loot. I don't mind if the caves are public, so long as there's a cap on the number of people in a single instance of the cave, although it would be fun to try and solo them on occasion.

It's even worse with quests for me. Often I'll wander into some chamber or house for a quest, and notice my quest update because someone else completed that stage just as I entered the zone. Naturally I'll have no idea what's going on since I never got a chance to see what happened, let alone complete the objective myself.

Yes, absolutely. Not only would you get the experience of playing the quest it is meant to be played, but also the story as it is meant to be told. Nothing is as immersion breaking as having a NPC say something along the lines of, "We're the first people in here in ages" and having the area filled with dozens of people running around and jumping in circles, leaving you thinking, "umm... what about all these idiots?"

They already do it with the Harborage...

No. Complete waste of time for them to add this. The Veteran Public Dungeons are always empty anyways, and there's no way you can solo the bosses in there.

    No.

The games server uses up a lot fewer resources by having one dungeon open with 10 people in it than 10 instances of a dungeon each with one person.

Basically, adding this as an option would lag the game to the point where it is unlikely to be playable. While many other games do instance things in this manner, they also have server architecture set up to do so.

I'm not sure instancing the dungeons is needed.

A timer on looting bosses might be a better option.

I voted as NO, because I think such option would take developer resources that could be used elsewhere.

It could also be abused by farmers much worse than current "boss camping" strategy.

It's also one of those "I want this game to be just a singleplayer TES" wishes. While I understand emotions behind such wish, it's already a problem for ESO as it is. Why? Because too many people are set in their mentality of playing it like single-player, with no cooperation.
How often do strangers group for an elite/dolmen/exploration? (even though grouping provides exp bonus, reduces likelihood of "stolen" kills etc).
How hard is it to find a crafting partner? (even though craft partnership is suggested via game's crafting mechanics).
In my experience up to lvl 26, in both cases there's a significant lack of cooperation among players.

I fear that adding "instanced" option would further develop this single-player mentality. Which is why I am against this option for regular "exploration" content, at least until an average player learns to cooperate and work together with other adventurers like it was intended by mechanics and spirit of a *multiplayer* game.

My takeaway message? In multiplayer game like ESO, the bulk of immersion should come from proper interaction with other players, not from minimizing interaction with players whenever possible.

    A huge YES for me.

Don't get me wrong I love playing with others, but the content of those caves is so easy that having even just 2-3 others around makes it very frustrating because you just have to walk to the final boss without killing anything and then look at the group insta killing the boss on repeat.

It totally kill immersion, fun of play and kills any challenge whatsoever. I even tried to wait and let the group pass me by but there is always others coming in lol. I would really support an OPTION to have those caves instances for those of us who wants to enjoy the game and not suffer from the idiotic cave boss farming etc that is happening right now.

every player doesn't have to be instanced. but they could at least cap each instance with 5-10 random people instead of the current... 30+ or something like that.

I think this is a good idea some point down the line, IF they can avoid the technical issues mentioned by the "No"s above. My sister and I like to tackle dungeons together, and it can be frustrating when we enter a dungeon, only to run straight through to the end without a single enemy because we happened to enter behind another group.

Also, I'm big on immersion, and I wouldn't mind it for immersion reasons.

But again, only if it's technically feasable.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

I like having other random people with me to do a dungeon, saves me from joining a PUG, waiting and waiting or having to skip it altogether due to difficulty in soloing it (im a healer). More the better I say

however, if folks really want to go solo or have a private exp of the game, im not against them from having certain dungeons that cater to their style, just not all
