Lol. 54% dont trust zos to balance game.
Omg. Lmao. I cant say that I blame the community for feeling that way about Zos. But. Honestly, deep down inside we all know there is nonsuch thing as balance. Its just a buzz word used in place for a motive or agenda for buff or nerf of a class.

It is impossible to get a perfect balance on everything. I do believe they are trying their best and that is way more than many other games do. And at least they listen to the players, they may change something and they may not but they do look at it. They can't make all the changes everyone wants, that simply isn't possible.

If you expect balance in a game that has multiple game types, very flexible classes that can do everything, a huge amount of gear options and a very varied playerbase, then you are deluded and basically don't understand the fundamentals required for decent balance in a game.

This game does not have those fundamentals, balance will never ever be anything other than a clown fiesta in ESO regardless of how good or bad the efforts of ZOS are.

With Wrathstone it seemed like they'd finally gotten it right with balance, each class and race doing a something a little bit better than another but not completely overpowered. This Incap change is ridiculous though and will kill off magicka users in pvp.

Played since 2013 beta....6 years later, they have the best handle on their game than anyone else would really. Otherwise, other people would have made the same game already. It's an MMO, it's never going to be "balanced". I think people's expectations of "balance" are pretty unrealistic, especially the players who have only ever played WoW besides this, or who haven't played MMO's earlier than 2010.

    Yes.
When it comes to a new project done on a large scale (this applies to everything from TV shows to movie series like the MCU, and certainly video games), there is a certain period that typically lasts a few years where they just have no idea what they are doing. From there they start to find their niche, and where they truly want to go. Then once they truly grasp where they want to go it starts to become the great thing that all of the early fans knew it could be.
In that transition phase before they find their niche, if they do not get it right then it will often fail.
This is why for example the first 2 seasons of most every tv show sucks and then in the 3rd it starts to get better.

As I look at ESO, it looks like they have found their niche, and now are getting the game to fit in it. So yes, I have hopes they will be able to balance it properly.

Not since they took Bosmer stealth away and gave us nonsensical stealth detection as well as making us the dodge rolling race.

All over Tamriel, theres a sudden spike in Bosmers getting caught for their crimes. A sad day indeed... #FightForYourRite Give Bosmers back our stealth!

I trust they will do their best.
I trust they will have to keep doing their best for as long as the game exists, because something -this- complex will -never- be "perfectly balanced". Ever.
So I trust they will fix any issues that arise as they see them in their evaluations, and people will keep whining that this must be nerfed and that must be buffed, and sometimes ZOS will do it, and sometimes not...
    That's how it goes.
And in the end, ZOS will keep balancing, and the OP question will forever remain unanswered, because even if we cannot possibly trust them to do a perfect job due to being only human in the end, who else could we trust to do a better job? The internet community? Remember how well that worked out when they let them name a friggin boat???
    Anyhow.
My thoughts on game balance and trusting ZOS would be something like...

Now this is a rather interesting question.

Do I trust Zos to balance the game? Yes absolutely.

Do I trust them to do so the way they want it to? Yes absolutely.

Do I trust them to do so with a vision of where they want to be? Perhaps, not quite decided on that one yet.

Do I trust them to share said vision with the community so we can know what their goals are and provide feedback if we feel said goals are achieved or not? Absolutely not.

Do I trust them to share said vision with the class reps so that they may give early feedback and point out where said vision would negatively impact pain points of individual classes without giving anything back? Absolutely not.

Do I trust them to balance as per their vision with gameplay scenarios in mind and not just pure numbers, while also keeping in mind that the people playing are no emotionless robots? As of the recent changes no not at all.

Do I trust them to acknowledge and act on pain points we bring forth through our class reps during and after their balancing efforts? Why would I when class reps get ignored for certain changes and other classes that needed help get ignored too in favour of placating the most popular classes?

In the end my current verdict is that yes I trust them to balance their game, they might even have some sort of roadmap which they might use to guide them.
But balancing your game and balancing your game with healthy changes and not leaving underperforming classes behind while proposing nerfs for overperforming classes but ultimately end up buffing them is not the same and very recent pts patch notes have not been exactly hope inspiring for the type of balancing that nerfs overperforming classes/buffs underperforming classes and offers healthy changes for both PvE and PvP.

I do not believe in or care about whatever this “balance” thing is players talk about. But whatever it is, I certainly trust the developers with it over the players.

This is kind of a weird title OP.

"Trust" has nothing to do with the subject as it is so subjective.

What you feel is balanced, may not be what someone else feels is balanced. It is neither your decision nor mine.

I fell that NB are completely OP and completely unbalance the game, but that is my opinion and others may not feel that way.

You may feel that Sorcerers are too powerful and don't deserve to have any shields or protection at all and that all other players should fall victim to your "superior" skills and, if they don't then they should be "balanced" so that they do. But that is your opinion.

ZoS knows that as do the rest of us.

ZoS owns the property so it really isn't a matter of trust.

ZoS will do what ZoS will do and you either have to like it, lump it or move on to something else.
