Got a new rx 570 8 gb card from asrock

I def do see a difference between my 2gb ddr4 apu vega 11 graphics (ryzen 5 2400 g) and my rx 570 8gb asrock card in game. mostly in depth of field and the crispness of graphics.

But there was a real issue i was hoping to resolve with my upgrade that wadn't resolved. While playing eso during the jesters fest we would make the teleport runs from auridon to skywatch and then to the college and back to auridon. Regardless which grapchics setup it seems though, the result is the same. A loss of texture around the auridon wayshrine. THis was taken just a little while ago with my fancy card installed.

This happens on every system from time to time.

I've seen it on an nVidia 770 GTX, 1050ti, oddly rarely if ever see it when I'm running on intel on board.

It does away on its own. Changing zones helps. If it is persistent, check drivers. Does it happen on other games?

I was able to avoid this by recalling to my mara kiss house from the college itself instead of the wayshrine. For some reason, going to VG from certain wayshrines messes with the textures. Same thing happens in Vivec from time to time. It's not your system, it's a bug.

That is a texture load issue and no video card will fix that. Basically, either a texture does not load, or a long distance LOD texture got loaded.

Some areas are more susceptible to this, probably because the texture is placed slightly off. (If you modded the single player game, this would make more sense)
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Everyone gets that issue eventually. At least its not the texture flicker bug you encountered. That one will literally make you sick ...

Jesters Festival is a good way to generate the texture issue, return from College Wayshrine to Vukel Guard!

This was also happening on the Xbox One X during the Jester's Festival, it was very repeatable on my Xbox and my partner's Xbox. It always happened when we were returning to submit our quests to the "Queen", never any other time during the festival, and I have rarely seen it elsewhere.

It probably has more to do with disk performance than video card. The textures have to be loaded before they can get wrapped around the objects using them, and the more actors around, the more different textures are involved. That's why people, both NPCs and players, appear progressively. It adds them as fast as it can, but some will appear as silhouettes before they get rendered in full. The ground gets its distant texture loaded, and replaced by the near one after. If the I/O requirements are particularly heavy, it can affect the area around where you loaded in, so it generally cures itself as you move away from the wayshrine.

Once the game has failed to load a texture in time, it doesn't seem to have any recall of what it missed, and the texture doesn't get replaced with the full-resolution one. So you may need to go somewhere it's not being used, so it gets discarded, and later reloaded (in full). Following a road that's all the same texture can leave it with you a long time.

A video card with more memory to hold textures can even make the problem worse, as there's more to load from disk before it's filled.

I've only seen it during the Jester's Festival but then that's probably the only time I make that exact route and return. I'll have to give it a try tonight.

I got a gtx 1070. It happens even on my system sometimes.

I think the game literally forgets or fails to load the terrain sometimes , for whatever reason. So I can safely say this is not system related.

Happened to me every time I finished the Jester's Festival quest. I've had it happen in Daggerfall a few times. Other than that, I don't think I've seen it.

This is a bug with that specific area. It's always happened to me when there's a high visual load in that location (lots of players). I've never seen it anywhere else.

The game has always had a memory leak issue. When you play for a certain amount of time, and or also wayshrine to multiple zones back and forth, eventually half of the ground textures just stop rendering. You'll need to do a full restart.

That particular bug happens to me every Jesters, always and only in Vulkhel on returning to hand in. It's not you IMO, something they do to the zone during the festival.

This happens when one travels (from a wayshrine at Auridon to College and then) from College to Vulkhel Guard and is not related to the event other than it gives a thing to do at College. Also if one ports from College to Dontrememberthename near Vulkhel Guard, textures are missing from slightly different area at Vulkhel Guard.

I guess it is like the Craglorn flicker, a glitch which may or may not be fixed only after the game engine melts and prevents players using the Crown store.

Seems to happen when you teleport to several different areas in a fairly short time. Happens a lot in Cyrodiil when your jumping around between keeps.

This doesn't happen at all on my 8GB 1080 GTX .

Now that I think about it, it didn't happen on my 2GB 960 GTX either.

Happens on every config. It's a known bug from devs. They will never fix it because they say it's hardware gfx drivers related (lol).

It happened on my 1080ti SLI and happens on my 2080ti now. GPU power isn't the issue here.

I always thought texture loading was more of a CPU/memory thing.

I only get this when I am in Cyrodiil and the server is really busy.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't a GPU issue. I hear ESO is a CPU heavy game, and I know for a fact it is heavy on the drive.

A good question for everyone to ask themselves is what kind of storage device are you using? Upgrading to a SSD (or better) will help get rid of a lot of the slow loading, be it textures not rendering properly, or very long load times.
