What DPS is good for someone starting out?

I'm reading all about nerfs everywhere, now stamina nightblade is taking a big hit.
I just want to get away from healing for a while and start a dps that has an easy rotation and pull good numbers and doesent get nerfed for 1-2 years like templar was.

Gulnagel✭✭✭✭I highly doubt Necromancer will be viable, look at magica warden, still underperformes 2 years later.
Necro will probably be OP at launch and then nerfed nerfed nerfed.0 -

There's no guarantee your class won't get nerfed, of course. MagSorc is pretty easy as Mag DPS goes. MagPlar if you want to potentially swap back to healing. Stamden is decent if you don't want Stamblade.0 -

✭Make a stamina and magicka of each class. It doesn't take long to level and you can play them simultaneously. Eventually they wiil all get to 50 especially with all the event xp buffs we get.
Once you have 2 of each class you'll never look back. There is a certain feeling of freedom in having choices to play. It's also fun having the variety and getting to know what the different classes can do aswell as how stam and mag versions of each class compare. I strongly suggest trying this out.
So many people complain about magden under perfoming but I've managed to have lots of fun on mine. I've done vet dungeons on mine nps and my bear even helped tank some of the fights lol Maybe it's not the min maxer's flavour of the month but they are not useless either.

✭Just play whatever you enjoy, all classes can hit the required dps numbers to clear all content. (Yes even magden) Class really only matters if you are in the top 1% and can actually compete for top leaderboard scores.
There will be nerfs there will be buffs such is the nature of MMOs. Your enjoyment should always come first it is only a video game...2 -

✭✭15-20k is the basic amount you should be hitting with a wonky rotation and not ideal gear set up imo.
Any lower than 15k and you probably need to learn more about your class, or rotations, animation canceling and light attack weaving.1 -

That, and if you get to about 26k-28k you're good dps. More can probably be achieved, but not required. Just please make the effort to get to at least 20k dps, groups can be rather painfully slow if there's less dps.20k is more than enough for most content in this game.
