ESO is actually one of the most stable and better MMOs. That I have played in my 16 plus years of MMO experience, through many MMO titles. That is the truth!

There are only two that I can think of that are more stable than ESO. That's Guild Wars 2 and Eve Online.

Yeah...but I havent play any mmos...I played mmos before most of youre were even born.

I have played alot of mmos. Listen here zippy! BDO is a good game. Youre talking about bdo as if they deleted those classes recently. That was in the beginning stages. Not after 5 years like eso.

Even Dcuo which was and is a crappy game is more stable than ESO. Yourr builds are fine no matter when you come back.

Hell. If youre definition of stable is nerfing youre builds every 2 to 3 month, then have at it.

For sane people who make there own builds and spend hours and weeks creating effective new and unique builds, this game will waste that time. Some of you have time to waste. Good for you. Mine is valuable and I certainly am not going to pay someone to make my time a complete waste simply because devs want to give the illusion they are

neverwinter - is literally currently undergoing a gigantic shift with new expansion where classes were COMPLETELY redesigned, scaling is all sorts of messed up to the point where they are releasing patches every FEW DAYS to try and fix it up. and this is not first or second or third time this happen - it pretty much happens every. major. Neverwinter. patch.
SWTOR - underwent as many if not more class redesigns than ESO in LESS TIME
GW - which one, first or second? first is stable cause its practically a single player game, second - oh lordie. they have delayed content patches to fix gameplay issues.
City of heroes - shut down
Star Trek - same issues as Neverwinter.

and those are just games that I can speak of from personal experience oh and unlike ESO? all but GW2 - make you relevel and RE-GEAR FROM SCRATCH every damn major content release.

dude. what in a world are you smoking? cause that's some powerful stuff

@SkerKro flavor of the month, I keep mixing up my flashes and flavors, especially since some of those really are like a flash in a pan. god, i remember most of the ones you brought up. I also remember when for a while, they buffed the crap out of my BM hunter for a bit, and then nerfed it so hard that a whole bunch of us just stood in front of the target dummies after trying "new and improved" hunter - shellshocked. and I stand corrected about the source!

but anyways, yeah, the irony here is that horizontal progression is WHY this game is far more stable than most on the list.

because unless i'm trying to be in a top 1% or something, i can come back years down the road and still play with the same build and gear. pick up where i left off. its actualy part of the reason i'm on current hiatus from Neverwinter - current expansions did a number of several classes i like to play, and its not that i cannot adjust to changes, its that like the last few times I came back to, and left again Neverwinter? those changes are just not fun, so i'm waiting until, hopefully they come to their senses and make some adjustments.

These forums are filled with whiny entitled players who don't want challenging game play they want to beat everybody and all content with the least amount of skill possible. So the question is when will we stop trying to nerf everything before the game becomes an echo of itself?

I could actually list all the nerfs and nerf overs throughout the history of this game. But, I would rather someone else do it.

I took this from another post to demonstrate how tiree a lot of us have become of manufacturee instability in this game just so devs can fee like you have done something innovative with the game.

If anyone wants to add other nerfs that devs have riddled the game with. Pls be my guest and list them. Some have been nerfed, buffed, nerfed angain and buffed again.

    Ridiculousness

this is really just baiting people for an argument. Although I do not disagree entirely.

A lot of youre responses were this or that shut down or being redisigned.
You make it seem like having a gsme redesign is a bad thing. Neverwinter was a great game on its worse day than ESO. Im glad they are redesigning it rather than changes class skills every 2 months.

And you do realize City of Heroes is still operting right?

Interesting. Wonder if you are referring to one of the many unreleased games that keep getting pushed back cause issues, or, that "private" server that isnt over seen by Paragon, crytpic studios or funded by NCsoft that has been "promoting a free CoH/V" that has been given numerous of Warnings by NCSoft or face full legal battle, while many of the players are getting nasty viuses in their PCs after gaining access to the server. Or ACE game's Champion online, the water down, last shreds that Paragon Studios is left trying to recapture what they once had...

So... basically the same as an MMO ever.

To me, it's just the life of an MMO. Everyone I have ever played the story has always been the same.

You mean that private server? That's not "In Operation", that's someone "hopefully" building a server with their own written code. Not the same bud lol.

And now that you mention it, 13k crowns, ESO +, Elsweyr Collector's edition is definitely not enough, I should definitely buy some more stuff from ZOS tonight.

but anyways, yeah, the irony here is that horizontal progression is WHY this game is far more stable than most on the list.

because unless i'm trying to be in a top 1% or something, i can come back years down the road and still play with the same build and gear. pick up where i left off. its actualy part of the reason i'm on current hiatus from Neverwinter - current expansions did a number of several classes i like to play, and its not that i cannot adjust to changes, its that like the last few times I came back to, and left again Neverwinter? those changes are just not fun, so i'm waiting until, hopefully they come to their senses and make some adjustments.

    Dies from laughter

You keep paying devs to keep nerfing youre builds and wasting youre time you cant buy back and you guys are ok with it.

You mean that private server? That's not "In Operation", that's someone "hopefully" building a server with their own written code. Not the same bud lol.

And now that you mention it, 13k crowns, ESO +, Elsweyr Collector's edition is definitely not enough, I should definitely buy some more stuff from ZOS tonight.

Lol. Its "Operation" enough for the people who who have been playing ot longer than ESO has been in "Operational"
But, youre right. COH is better.

Im glad you like ESO. Im not here to hate people that love it. Not going to get that from me. You enjoy that which you enjoy.

But, I am of the opinion the way the game is managed creates an unstable game.

OP is simply wrong and has not played many MMOs. Off the top of my head I can name worst stable MMOs that pretty much deleted classes to uselessness for profit and P2W.

    - Black Desert Online
    - Blade and Soul
    - Blessed Online
    - Revelation Online
    - Skyforge

I could keep on going but you get the drift.

ESO is actually one of the most stable and better MMOs. That I have played in my 16 plus years of MMO experience, through many MMO titles. That is the truth!

There are only two that I can think of that are more stable than ESO. That's Guild Wars 2 and Eve Online.

If you have criticism, if you can do better then give constructive criticism . Please the negativity has got out of control.

I actualy specificaly said (other then GW2) its one of the very few games on the market that like ESO doesn't force you to start over every expansion. its why I said MOST of the games on that list, because the rest of them? raise level cap, unlike GW2 which functions very similarly to ESO when it comes to gear and mastery points/champion points in ESO.

everything else... is... honestly? somewhat subjective. because GW2 made multiple changes to classes, to game focus, to all kinds of things. are we talking general server stability? yeah, GW2 probably has more stable servers. but OP is talking about changes. nerfs. and from my experience with GW2? those come a plenty as well.

The problem is that they need to continuously nerf us to combat any sort of power increase created by the CP system / strong new sets. This is because of horizontal progression.

The reason other MMOs don't nerf as much is because they just re-tool certain skills entirely when the next expansion drops, or it scales differently due to new levels, or they just nerf it and nobody notices because at least they're getting stronger with the new level cap, gear cap, etc.

With ESO, new expansions don't come with increased level cap, and what little tiny marginal power increase we got with CP is now seemingly gone. Generally speaking, I haven't done more dps in almost 2 years now. The mathematical ceiling has risen, but unless you're in bleeding edge trials groups with perfect coordination, you probably haven't seen a dps increase of more than 2-3k in years, assuming your own skill level has stayed the same. There are exceptions for some class / stat combos, but this is generally true.

From a technical perspective, continuous nerfs may be necessary given the model they've chosen and how difficult or engaging they dictate certain content must be, but it just feels bad being nerfed all the time.

I've made a lot of posts about this in the past, and I'll keep on saying it until it's not true: ZOS needs to rethink horizontal progression, because long term it just isn't >>>> FUN <<<<, and that's the point of any game.

    It's the keyword.

I nearly choked on my cookie, if you mean Star Trek Online now I know you're talking absolute bollocks. Disconnect on every map transfer, entire UGC system removed because by their own admission they don't know how to fix it. Bugs present from launch are still here 9 years later, broken cutscenes on any mission older than 1 year, massive vertical powercreep that they occasionally massively nerf and then start the process again by making you grind more and more reputations, and a forum who shadowban anyone who says anything slightly critical.

I could literally write for hours about everything that's badly done in that game, but I cba anymore, 9 years of my life invested in a game you keep thinking must get better one day.

Compared to STO this game is a gamers paradise.

Sounds like OP has played a grand total of like 2 MMO's in his life...WoW and ESO lol..

He does like to complain though. Likely puts in more time complaining rather than actually playing the game. Could be a Russian bot. idk

Then clearly this isn’t the game for you and you should leave.

    Can I have your stuff?

I second this. Unless you don't have anything good.

strom arena, nerf event drops, nerf transmutation drops, nerf race against time, nerf draining shot, nerf nightblade, nerf sorc, nerf dragonknight, nerf major evasion, nerf sub assault, nerf wings, nerf ravager, nerf blocking, nerf dodge rolling, nerf cloak, nerf mist form, nerf enchants, nerf spin to win, nerf argonians, nerf orcs, nerf snipe, nerf master's staff, nerf healing, nerf solar flare, nerf necromancer, nerf dot ticks, nerf crafting...did I miss anything?

I don't think it would be feasible to even try to list all the nerfs/adjustments.

It's a near constant stream of changes in totality to play.

Like... the game right now is so vastly different from it's original release.

I guess you can't claim that the devs are inactive though... it's actually been a bit too much and too heavy handed.

Devs have been active in giving non innovative changes. Just moving the same old same old around. And then you have people who ask for stuff free stuff who should be asking the devs for actual real new content and real advances in game.

Should not pay them to create mechanisms designed at wasting members time.

I'm gonna second this. Played every single one of those. Especially when it comes to Blade and Soul. NCSoft threw that game under the bus. I still play casually, but me and two friends pretty much abandoned it after one free weekend of ESO on steam made us realize there was so much more to do in this game than in most games out there.
    PC l NA
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

There is a crap ton to do in this game. Thats not contestable.
The problem is how the game is managed by creating mechanism to waste youre time, and even more so if you design builds that are not common but effective.

Its a shame that people are stuck and willing to pay to be taken advantage.
