How does Siroria work on a Pet Sorc?

So I'm a little confused. Most pet sorc builds use Siroria for a set, but the 5piece bonus reads "Direct damage by a single target ability."
When you use a pet sorc rotation, what ability are you using that procs this? I'm a little confused. It seems like Infallible might be a better choice?

So for all future purposes we can assume light attacks are single target abilities? But what about heavy attack lightning staff?

IIRC this also activates SIroria.

Yes, a lightning heavy attack activates Siroria. The first three ticks of a lightning staff are damage over time, but the last pulse is direct damage.

See I thought lightning staff hit several enemies the ticks and the last pulse. Is this a rule breaker?

I have a question of my own if I may. I have a maelstrom fire staff and I been using it on my pet Sorc. How much increase will I see once my lightning staff finally drops. Or is it an increase at all? Seems like I get a lot more Lambris fire profs with it on back bar but Lambris damage is only like 5-6k per type. And I’m not getting very much burning just running it back bar for the blockade increase
