I played with the Necromancer class on the PTS, and I like it, so not disappointed at all. I appreciate that it works well for all three roles, and I plan on remaking three of my current characters into Necromancers.

Wishing for a Battlemage class next. I am disappointed that that was scrapped before launch: https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Battlemage

I had few to no expectations. Not a fan of necromancers in fantasy games in general.

But, I noticed a lot of the stamina morphs are... very PvP specific. That, certainly, is diassapointing.

You do realize that it is only the PvPers that matter... according to them, that is.

I doubt it. If that was the case, players like me would have left this game long ago because they wouldn't bother developing actual content for this game.

Yes I am disappointed. In part due to not having permanent pets. They claim this was so done so “it’s not just a sorcerer with undead pets”. This may be part of the reason, but I believe it is also due to the constant whining from people about pet classes. And because of the performance hit Cyro may take with another permanent pet class, which incidentally, goes hand in hand with more whining about class balance from the PvP side of the game.

However if you going to omit the core concept of a class some may argue you may as well not bother. The pets are just turrets really, and you’re using a form of necromancy not used by any of the NPCs in game. Why can’t we just have one permanent minion, a revive of any regular mob in said zone (subject to balancing...ahem) that despawns on zoning? I would have much preferred that. Sigh.

Still necromancers are coming, and that’s what i have wanted since beta. Slightly bittersweet, but sweet nonetheless.

Necromancers need a permanent pet imo. Not having one blasphemy

No other tes game outside of skyrim had permanent necro pets. Also unl ike skyrim having said pet out would get you a bounty.

What I might have liked to see is a morph that would convert a spell summoning several temporary skeletons to a permanent single skeleton.

You could have permanent pets in Morrowind via constant effect enchantments.

Also, combining a 1 second summon with a 1 second soultrap on target and firing it at your feet would also result in a permanent summon, though this was clearly a bug.

Either way, it’s a stretch IMO to say permanent pets are not appropriate or law friendly.

Yes I am. No permanent summon, way too OP, versatile AF...

Not so long ago (update 20), we were told that each class needs to bring something unique to the party. That's why Nightblade's path of shadow was changed to either heal OR damage, not both, for instance. Then, update 21 was all like "hey, races should bring something unique too, so let's destroy lore and make Altmers regenerate stamina if they are magicka based, let's change Bosmers to guards, make Argonians no longer resistant to poison, because... Yeah, obviously that was confusing".

Also, we're told that champions points will not go further until they manage to fix the supposed "power creep".

And now we get a damage dealer / tank / healer that also happen to have the only resurrection skill in the game, that can gain + 30k HP from an ultimate, that has +2k HP as a class bonus and whatnot ?

Where is you so called "balance" now, ZOS ?

Truth be told, I'll probably play one. Probably gonna be fun to be so OP. But that doesn't sit well with all their talk about balance.

After playing it on PTS extensively I can say that mechanic wise it's fine. It's like warden, but all *** slow, clunky and directional garbage is refined into something good and enjoyable.

I'm a bit disappointed though that stamina morphs are way more fun and have better mechanics than magicka morphs, these are a bit bland.

It would have worked, too...Wardens have cooperative, not controlled pets, and Sorcerer's pets are daedric, so struggling against control. But a necromancer has complete control over the dead.

Ehm... dude, you can control your pets. (At least Warden and Werwolf, never played a Sorcerer before)

Just press Y and left click a target and they will attack it, or if they are already in combat, switch to that target.
Press Y and Right mouse Button and they will stop fighting and return to your side (But are passive now, so you activly have to tell them when to attack again)

Yeah, I really like the class from what Ive seen on streams. You get suicide skeletons, Skeleton Archers, a Ghost that heals you, and your Ultimates look very fun too.

At first I was a little sad that it wasn't like a Diablo 2 Necromancer, with a small army at your command, but then I thought about how problematic that would have been… (imagine a Group of say 10 Necromancers, all with 5 or 10 undead pets… sure, it looks cool at first, but to balance these numbers, they would have to be so weak they instantly die to any AoE…

I like the focus on temporary "Pets" that do a thing and then die, because thats kinda the spirit of a Necromancer in my eyes, you summon the Dead to do your bidding and after they completed the task you created them for, you dont care. They are Tools, not pets.

All in all, I really like the design.

I'm honestly just surprised that it revolves around using the Seal of Orichalcos...seriously. I can't be the only one who sees the resemblance. And not just because of the hexagram!

Nope, it does the kinds of things I wanted out of the class and has some neat extras I never expected, I will enjoy playing it a lot.

Also, slightly disappointed because they replaced the bone dragon with a flesh atronach. And the bone dragon was the main selling point for me, as someone who loves dragons.
