"it wasn't what it was before with minor berserk on resource managment because nightblade is doing pretty good in both those departaments"

PTS 5.0.3

Nightblade
Assassination
Incapacitating Strike: This morph no longer applies Minor Mangle or Stuns the target when cast with 120 or more Ultimate. Instead, it now Silences the target for 3 seconds when cast with 120 or more Ultimate. Additionally, while slotted, it now grants Reave, which restores up to 100 Magicka and Stamina when dealing damage with a Light or Heavy Attack on a target with a negative effect active on them.
Developer Comment:
After collecting much feedback from forum threads and other outlets, we noted a lot of the feedback on how Mangle's operation was far too niche in terms of engagement due to how the debuff works. While the theme was aimed at helping the Nightblade single out an opponent and put them closer to death's door, we missed the mark in delivery. We want to retain the idea of the Nightblade isolating their target and gaining a few precious seconds of denial on the target's ability to recuperate, but we wanted the defender to at least be able to reposition while those seconds count down, so we have removed the stun in place of a Silence. Additionally, much like Soul Harvest, there is a passive gained for slotting the ability. However, this passive effect makes up a much smaller portion of the ability’s power, since Silences are such powerful disabling tools.

LOL :joy:

Had been nice if it silence worked on bosses :)
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Well the one from negate actually works on certain boss mechanics and disables them.

It's not just this. We were told a few patches ago that they wanted to separate skills that damaged from skills that healed - this resulted in several mNB changes/nerfs in the siphoning line. But now with the revised grim focus, we get a skill that does high damage, mitigates damage, and heals when it does damage. This is contradictory to their earlier stated design goals.

There are many such examples in the yo yo, pendulum swings that happen from patch to patch. I really dislike this design approach.

I am getting confused about what they want the NB to be. For pvp stamblade they seem to be pushing away from assassin style gameplay and towards a melee brawler. I'm not wild about taking the class in this direction.

this is solely a pvp buff since the incap stun was pretty much useless due to 2 factors...if u ambush from stealth target gets stunned thus gets immune...if u fear it break free and immune...and ofc immo pot...so it was solely a dmg ultimate...now it has a purpose for strategic play instead of ambush>incap>killer blade>hatemails.

Well now ZoS can always use their newly developed term "rule breaker"

Yeah, and a pretty good one at that, with the defile. Did it really need a buff?

now it has a purpose for strategic play instead of ambush>incap>killer blade>hatemails.

I don't quite follow. How does replacing defile+stun with silence turn that into strategic play?
