DPS set vs Tanky set

I'm currently doing about 11k on the big 3 million HP dummy, and I'm wearing a 5pc set of purple Fortified Brass in medium armor so I can fake tank a bit better with my wife. What's a rough guess of how much DPS I would gain by switching that out for a decent DPS set?

Probably doesn't matter for just getting a ballpark figure but just in case, I am bow/dw nightblade, about 33.5k stam with food running.

In an optimized build, Fortified Brass vs something like Hundings Rage is about 10-12% DPS difference. Fortified Brass vs Perfected Relequen can be close to double that, over 20%.

If there are other things missing in your build or group buffs, then gear can make even more of an impact. For example, most DPS builds get 452 weapon damage from an Infused Berserker glyph on their bow, and 835 Weapon Damage from Infused Jewelry Enchants. If you’re missing this 1287 Weapon Damage then things like Hundings’ 300 Weapon Damage become more important than my estimate above. Similarly gold quality weapons and buffs like Major Courage (and soon Minor Courage) become more important if you are running a defensive set instead of a damage set. If you are in a situation where most of your offense comes from gear sets, then the DPS impact can be large when losing that set.

If you are only getting 11k DPS, then a dps set will not help you much. You need to work on a rotation. 11k DPS is something you ought to be getting just light attacking.

I mean if he was real tanking with a damage set this might be okay.

This is where things get really confusing for me. Of course, I was attempting a rotation ... wound up with an average of 70-75% on my buffs/debuffs/DOTs and about 0.6 light attacks/second. Room for improvement but perfection there would net me maybe 25% more DPS, I'm guessing. I have gold weapons and my Defilers set is all purple. Light attacks accounted for 2500dps, so that'd be about 4k if I managed 0.9-1 LA/sec.
If you or anyone else would like to troubleshoot me further, I'm happy to post any other details you need.

I'm not sure about these glyphs. On TTC I'm seeing Glyph of Weapon Damage (weapon) and Glyph of Increase Physical Harm (jewelry), are these the ones you mean? Switching out the glyphs on my jewelry would lower my stam recovery to about 1200 though, which seems pretty bad. I did find some info that let me know that having absorb stamina glyphs on all my weapons is a bad idea. Recommend to have Weapon Damage on all my weapons, or some combination?
