The crystals are supposed to be a last resort to grinding for the gear you want, not a replacement.

ZOS doesn't actually want lots of player hoarding up tons of stones so they can transmute brand new gear as soon as new content drops. Hence the Crystal cap and the restrictions on storing geodes.

Not being able to put them in our bank is pretty dumb, especially since those of us with a free character slot could just make a mule and dump some gold on it to up the inventory space, and then accept all of our 50 crystal geodes from the 30-day campain on it. They could make it so only the character who earned the geode can retrieve it from the mail, but I'm glad they settled for a slightly less idiotic system.

My workaround around the 200 limit:
    1) I always keep a priorities list of items I want to transmute, and when the crystals in the "wallet" are near the limit, let's say 188/200, I go and transmute an item from that list. The incoming crystals are the ones that come in small numbers (2,3,5,10), like the ones from the RFTW mails, weekly trial coffers & pledges.
    2) The big geodes containing 50 crystals, that come from 30 days campaign rewards I just fork to mule characters by simply getting the mail on the PvP character, reading it, but leaving the attachments there. What i do next is to log the mule character and take the attachment, including the geode, that stays bound to his backpack and can be used at will when I need it to release 50 crystals into the "wallet".
It has worked quite well in the year and a half since the transmute system was introduced.

People have been asking for some means to store more crystals since they came out and Zos has not budged. Of course they might eventually, but not today.

As long as this remains the philosophy of the Devs, we will not see and increase in the amount of crystals we can store.

Of course. It’s no different that the philosophy Zos has concerning the crafting bag itself.

Life is much better with the crystals than before them. I store the 50 crystal geodes and open the smaller ones. Most of those are on the same mule.

They should just remove the cap. It's not a cap on transmute crystals, just an annoyance to have to keep them in my inventory as geodes instead.

You can say it's a last resort all you want. That doesn't make the inventory management mess the proper way to keep the number of crystals in check. The 200 cap is a soft cap that doesn't actually prevent acquiring additional crystals. The only purpose of the cap is to push the "real" cap onto your inventory instead. Horrible design.

How about a reliable way for Pve'ers to obtain crystals. That would be swell.

I am willing to propose a trade offer.

    How about:
    Transmute crystals to craft bag.
    But:
Free or (one time upgrade) motif style invetory bag or (bank space bag) for every1 ?

Then that's an old blue print that's very outdated. Most modern games don't have a "Grind" anymore for gear, they have means of obtaining gear without dedicating days, weeks, etc. to the grind. Diablo, WoW, and so on. One method is called itemization, this game severely lacks good itemization.
