The amount of people all over these guys is a bit anoying, but at least it's fun to watch, Shroud is already be better than 90% of the community after just a few hours playing it will be intresting to watch how far he can get. as for Nixxiom he does not seem like the sharpest spoon in the closet after watching his "end game" video, but he does have high prodution quality in his videos.

wow, you react as if you're one of them!

Why? Because I get annoyed with people who jump into a topic without spending a few minutes to catch up on what has been discussed already? Why participate to begin with if you know no-one from the original post?

I hoped that this thread will turn into a discussion about the attention the game got over the weekend. Instead it turned into the usual "I don't watch Twitch, I play games" and "They aren't better than any other player" thread. Annoying as hell.

Who are these people and why should we care what they think?

Shroud: former CS:GO pro, big PUBG and Apex Legends streamer. 6 million+ followers on Twitch.

Asmongold: well-known WoW streamer/personality. Very divisive because he's a prick so you probably either think he's hilarious or awful. Does a lot of odd events like "mount offs" and transmog competitions and the like.

Nixxiom's another big WoW content creator.

Don't know that anyone should really "care" what they think but if you tune into Shroud playing ESO, he's got more viewers in stream than the big ESO streamers ever get. Definitely exposing the game to a huge audience.

If those people can make it possible to increase the attractivity of ESO and this results especially in an increase of the "average or above average DD player base", they have my blessing. We already have enough roleplayers with 10k dps. We could need some more serious tanks (no faketanks) too.

Issue is I seriously doubt that this will happen :-)

People in here talking about Asmongold’s followers being toxic yet nearly every uninformed opinion in this thread comes of toxic as hell. nobody can make this game more toxic than it already is.

to all you knuckleheads who dont understand- These three are big streamers, Shroud is arguably the biggest video game streamer, no you dont have to like or watch them, but stop being small-minded and look at the big picture.

Big Streamers means big free promotion for the game. With Elswyr(spelling?) right around the corner the eso community can take a huge jump upwards with the help of top streamers. More players means more money-more money means improved QoL.

With top streamers bringing attention to their game Zenimax would be wise to spend more resources on fixing this games lag issues.

Asmond was only level 5 or 6 when he declared that the combat was slow and clunky. He only had two skills unlocked! Then he was trying to attack anything that moved in Vvardenfell, players, NPCs, a silt strider, etc. He also said that the Tribunal (before he met them) were a "knock off" of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which would make the Ashlanders a knock off of pre-Christian Vikings.I understand that there might be a "vague" similarity to that, but its' soooo different in many ways.

I'm happy about the attention that ESO gets but people like this don't actually take the time to understand the game before making judgments. Not all publicity is good publicity.

Not taking anything away from these streamers...they have a devoted fan-base and are good at what they do...but still

Nixxiom has a good community , Asmongold has a good core community but a lot of idiots watch him (no surprise there he is a big streamer after all). I think this is a good thing for the game. A lot of toxic people will probably come to eso , but i don't think they will be the type to stay for very long.

The community is full of toxic people already. So to say they are coming is silly. All one needs do is spend 3 minutes in Auridon to see a slew of racial slurs, people being told to kill themselves, etc. I oftentimes play with my HUD off because inevitably there is someone in zone spouting nastiness.

I watched that Asmon guy make a character and go into the Vvardenfell tutorial, it was so painful. As soon as he left Naryu and saw a player he tried to run up and punch the guy, confused as to why it wasnt doing anything. He also mistook another player as an NPC and while fiddling with the interact wheel, accidentally accepted a group invite then played the rest of the video in a group.

WoW players thinking ESO is like WoW.

Bit off-topic but this would explain all the random new players I've had randomly come to me and ask for group. Yesterday had someone insist on grouping when I was just standing around during a quest. I ended up accepting. Turns out they were questing too but unlike me, they didn't take the time to even read the text. Long story short, I was forced to drop group, drop the quest, and go back half the map because them being in my group despite not being anywhere nearby pretty much screwed all my quest, and I was left totally clueless as to what was going on.

Lesson learned  Never ever accept random invites from strangers.

They will all drop ESO as soon as Vanilla WoW comes out, shroud has said he will, Asmongold will for sure. I just hope they showcase the *** show that PvP in this game is to the thousands of viewers they get before they inevitably leave this trashy ass game :)

Vanilla WoW could be in Summer or even later this year, and until then ESO will appear in the Top 10 games on Twitch. But I agree that exposure of ESO's performance might actually get something changed. Maybe even for the better.

You may be right, but I don't want to believe it. They can't just take money from players and let performance deteriorate, especially when numbers are increasing considerably. They also have to think about their next game (which more or less has been confirmed now), and the reputation the studio gets from a great game with poor performance.

A half dead hamster and a few crown crates? Wait a moment, they probably didn't get any crates...

    1. Half dead hamster
    2. 20 vials of Poison
    3. 2 Crown Repair Kits

I never thought about something like that, nor wrote it anywhere. It will be just humoristic (in a pirandellian way) to see the game getting *** in in front on 1 or 2 million people spread between utube, twitch and reddit.

They didn't get anything for those streams. Streamers have to put in their title if the game they play is sponsored by a developer or publisher. And none of them is part of the ESO stream team or whatever the name was. That weekend was pretty good free marketing for ZOS.

none of these make sense in relation to WoW, if anything in ESO you can kill npc's whereas in wow you cant.

he blocked in the random tutorial, that's more then I can say about some 500 cp ppl I run into whilst doing a random daily dungeon.

I wouldn't get too invested in what they say. ESO is a very flawed game that still manages to be a lot of fun. Still they aren't likely to fall in love with it immediately. It takes a lot of time they may or may not want to invest.

They cant? They have been doing that exact thing for the last 2 years. Maybe even longer. With literal silence from the devs. No information about performance. While so many of us on console legit cannot play in vivec, and shor is dead except for prime time so we are left with nothing. Its shameful.

I dont want to believe it either but from looking at zos' actions and lack of any communication it seems iike they arre out of touch with theeir game, dont care about their players, dont care about their pvp players, and certainly dont care about console players. And it also seems like they cant fix anything. I've been hoping im wrong for years.
