Ever since levels have been removed from the Overworld and everyone is being scaled to lvl50, the motivation for doing overland content has been low. Sure, if you are interested in lore or want to do Cadwell's silver for the Soulshriven motif, you'll still be doing these quests.
But wouldn't it be cool if ZOS released new motifs that you would be rewarded with at the end of a zone's questline?
Most of us on the forums probably already know about the "no change policy" for older assets after a change to female Redguard armor put ZOS in a difficult spot. Since then they said they would not change older assets unless they are clearly not working as intended, like clipping issues or floating pieces. Adding new motifs to overland quests would allow them to essentially make a "Dunmer style 2.0" without having to change anything about the old one while also making overland content more rewarding. Style mats for it could drop from anchors, world or delve bosses in those zones, making them more relevant again too. For that to work as intended, those motifs would probably have to be account bound, but seeing as earning them is no issue at all if you put in the time, that's not going to be a real downside. ZOS would also benefit from this investment as more content to grind for also increases active player numbers and gives those at the endgame something new to do between releases other than more events.
I'd be very excited to see something like this or other cool rewards being implemented in the existing overland content like more mounts and pets. What are your thoughts?
