Whispers after a kill

Novarre
Novarre
I noticed for a few days now that almost every time I kill something in the world (not speaking about dungeons or pvp) my character hears voices whispering, something along the lines "you should be the one to die" or something like that.

At first I found them not too bothering but now they are a bit annoying, as they are quite frequent, almost after every kill.

I am wondering are they tied to a quest?
Is it a secondary quest or a main one? Do you know the name of that quest?
Or are they tied to something else?

My character is lvl 22, Khajiit, Aldmeri Dominion currently in Grhatwood.
Any answer that helps would be appreciated.

Yep. I don't remember the name, but it's a secondary quest you need to finish. Some amulet you picked up I think.

@MorHawk great, thank you, the endless whispering was really annoying, will check my quest list tonight and see what is tied to an amulet.

Also wasn't even sure if my character was doing it or not, the voice is a distinct Khajiit voice.

Or if this Khajiit was starting to lose it a bit :(

Knew I'd seen talk of that recently. Yep, cursed amulet. Name of the quest is reportedly "Phantom Guilt".

There is also one involving cursed books, as I recall.

Nah, there's nothing in the game like that. Must be in your own head.

I am purposely not completing this quest because I LOVE this. My Characters name is Ryoko the Mad, so it fits me beautifully.

That is a really cool feature but would really creep me out if I didn't know about it in advance. Especially if I were playing late at night.

I honestly didn't know. It just happened one night and didn't go away. Guildies think I'm crazy, as they still don't believe that my summon sings creepy tunes.

No this Khajiit is not having too much skooma, nor did he hit his head, repeatedly. This khajiit just likes the shadows, but prefers if the shadows wouldn't speak back.

Thanks for the replies and the info, much appreciated. :D
