What was the worst accidental mistake you've made in-game?

Accidentally running a scroll into lava with about 40 DC players escorting me. Needless to say... I wasn't too popular in cyrodill for about a week

Believing that 25+ years of TES lore means anything here. That was my biggest mistake.
Taking stealth away from the Bosmer is like taking magic away from the Altmer, making Nords allergic to mead, or making Orcs pretty.

I saw a Fabricant Cherry Blossom furniture plan for only 75k in a guild trader and didn't want to wipe out what was my entire bankroll at that time, so I didn't buy it.

Only to learn later it's worth well over 1 million. But worse, it's the one plan I really want to learn in the game and know I'll basically never find it again.

It still haunts me to this day.

1st dungeon I ever did, Crypt of Hearts. I didn’t realize the Ilambris twins...well...were TWINS. The fight was so hectic I didn’t realize there were TWO of them. So, once the first Ilambris dummy was dead, I stopped fighting and started celebrating.

Well...the tank died. The healer died. Then the other dd died. I had to kill that last Ilambris fool all by myself. I didn’t know how to rez nobody. Luckily he was almost dead. Lol. Ah...noobs.
Spindlecrunch 2, after the fight at second last boss one guy says TY for group and leave. This is also the location of last boss in spindle 1. He got reinvited and felt stupid :)
Same on second last boss in bloodroot forge.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Oh, I guess my one other biggest "D'oh!" moment was doing a master writ - think maybe it was nirnhoned because it was a decent amount of vouchers - but only called for epic and not legendary. Yeah, that was a lovely waste of tempers. *facepalm*

I once thought Bosmer were meant to excel at being sneak thieves and archers.

I was finally correctly informed they make better acrobatic sentries.

My guild were running vetHRC, it was not our first run of this trial and we already cleared more than once or twice, we were looting chest and hs to the final boss the warrior, I see 3 statues near the door, first seeing these statues so I approach them.

There was a prompt to destroy said statue so I went ahead and break 1, nobody had reacted to my action so I thought it was ok, although I heard the warrior speak in angry tone, so I beeak the other 2 statues.

After that, I was public enemy number 1 in the guild, or felt like it. I swear I didnt know thats how you activate vet hrc hm, omg.

I was dumb founded and apologize after everyone left the trial.

    My stupidest moment in eso.

I lost 5 event tickets for a dumb Lyris battleaxe style page because I was trying to preview it. I must have hit the button twice accidentally or something. *Sighs*
I've found it for free in event boxes twice since then, of course. :s

Probably not the worst but definitely a very frustrating one. Was running vMA for flawless on my stamDK when I accidentally deployed a memento instead of a potion. The Champion of Atrocity had fun chewing on my upturned backside while I fumbled with apples bobbing in a cauldron.

I was so angry, but couldn't help but laugh at the whole deal.

I bought a cool wolf mount for 400 crowns. Only, it wasn’t crowns.... it was crown gems. With the console UI the crown and crown gem icons look similar... on normals PC UI they are different colours.

I was saving those gems!! Contacted ZOS for a refund but they never responded. At least the wolf looks cool. But I’ll never get those gems back because I don’t buy crates.

When i first picked up the game i thought restoration staves light and heavy attacks were supposed to target allies and heal them. I couldn't figure out why i was only hurting enemies. When Summerset came out years years later i had a little nostalgic moment and chuckled when i realized they made my original hope a skill.

investing so much time into psijic ambrosia. I thought i was cool for cheating the system and getting free xp pots. I never really ended using the much looking back on my journey to cp 810, let alone getting the perfect roe required to make them. Then daily rewards came along and now I have about 30 unused experience scrolls, and that's just the 50% ones. Maybe some day i'll make a huge stockpile of ambrosia for a friend who's new to the game.

Back when olorime came out I deconned all my SPC stuff out of spite of how hard it was to farm that compared to how quickly i got olorime. Not a huge mistake but i wish i had kept it to fit into one of my off healers or a pvper.

i would say my biggest mistakes are giving away/deconning pieces i know i wouldn't use and then i end up wanting them later on. Some examples i've had are Advancing Yokeda dagger, infalliable aether lightning staff, siroria's fire staff, and shield of alkosh to name a few.

Most of my biggest mistakes were tied to crafting. Making full sets that are gold only to discover I made them 150.

Or accidentally deconstructing something when I meant to upgrade it. Just silly things like that when not paying proper attention.

I was clearing my inventory and I tried to destroy a useless one handed axe. What really happened thanks to lag was: I equiped the useless axe, the item I was hovering for destruction was my TFS yellow infused dagger. (yes, I destroy items by drag'n'drop) After that incident I started to join PUG nSO runs once again. (and I now have the setup back again)

deconned a weapon worth 200k .... I still believe one day I will find it and this was all my imagination.

Same exact thing happened me. I put it up on trader accidentally for a low price, so I canceled it, and went about my business. When I got back to town I took everything out of my mail, and went to decon stuff to make space. Didn't realize at first I deconned a 250k staff with the rest :cry:

I made all my toons Ebonheart Pact at the beginning and upgraded all the horses and bag space. . .Then they lifted the alliance restrictions so I ended up deleted all but 4 EP toons. I now have 1 of each class on all 3 alliances.

I feel ya. I made a new Breton healer EP, just before wrathbone because my altmer gets stam back due to changed passives - and thought ‘hey I can play with EP friends’ levelled her, got all her things, levelled her riding (paid real money for some even) and even got Dromathra Destroyer on her annnnnd faction lock.

    Sucks.

Probably learning valuable motifs chapters and furniture plans on alts by mistake. (That's an ongoing mistake that occasionally repeats itself)

For instance the Welkynar legs chapter I got out of a reward box for the jubilee, learnt on an alt.

Other than that nothing really big comes to mind.

Do admit I didn't bother reading the tutorial message about Wayshrines being free to use when you interact with them, when I started playing wasted so much gold porting to Wayshrines.

My first character was an Imperial Sorcerer - not really in any stam/magicka category because I was spreading attributes evenly across health, stamina, and magicka.

After all, the power of the skills was based on your level, right?

Listen here youngsters! Grandpa Dread is going to tell you a tale of incompetency, betrayals, and mistaken identity

Back in the ole days where Veteran rank 14 was still a thing and Valkin Skoria is the only monster helm worth using a team of noobs went to on a 3 hour journey inside the pits of hell known as City of Ash 2 to get a chance to retrieve the helm. Back then it took the party of incompetents 3 hours just to reach the boss and a solid hour of attempts to actually beat him.

After getting wiped for what felt like the 100th time the party decided to change strategy and talk things though before starting fight. Now a certain Templar was trying to bar swap but he had his controller set in a weird mode where u had to hold the Y button on the xbox controller to swap bars. Sadly he did not hold it long enough and started beaming the boss when no one was looking. Did he tell the rest of his comrades? Hell no.

The leader of the group, the sorc, instantly blamed the night blade of the group be cause he was a shady guy. Get it? Shady, nightblade? Har har har.

The night blade was confused and angry and started blaming the dragon knight who didnt have a mic so he couldnt voice his innocence.

As the party devolved into a shouting match of anger and frustration, the Templar stayed oddly quiet as vitriol was thrown about from the sorc to the night blade to sorc and vice versa.

Eventually the boss from hell fell and the sorc retrieved the helm. He promised to give it to the nightblade as an olive branch. The nightblade was ecstatic and was ready to fully forgive the sorc for his baseless accusations as soon as he received the helm. There was only one problem...

This was 2014...you couldnt share helms back then...

And so the nightblade had his spirit broken and the sorc had a helm he had no need for. The dragon knight faded away never to been seen from again. As for the templar...

He kept his folly a secret to the grave and no one suspected him until one drunk night where he bragged to those guys how idiotic it was the think a nightblade could shoot a jesus beam.

    Good times. Good times

Oh my list goes on and on, LOL! Numerous times of running my mount at full speed and neglecting to see a break in the bridge or road until I take a dive into lava below it; purchasing a motif for lots & then finding I already had it; accidently selling off something I crafted thinking it was random junk; and...getting the notorious Sweetroll in a free crate drop and not realizing that I could have turned it in for 400 jewels. That sweetroll sits shining away on one of my home's tables now reminding me that ' haste makes waste'!
