It could be IF someone does it that way. Make all their characters part of one family as part of their backstory... even tho it'd be a bit silly, just think about the family dinner "I beat Molag Bal" - "no, that was me!" - "No, me!" - "Me!"...
But many more will have loads of characters who are completely unconnected to each other. That former dunmer servant girl and the orc paladin-wannabe, the altmer priestess with questionable past and the breton vampire, the nord mountain man and the redguard desert bandit... no connection whatsoever!

How close did you feel to a crime?
So basically an open world PvPMartiniDaniels wrote: »As somebody mentioned, some kind of PVP bounty hunting in PVE overland will be interesting idea. For example you pick bounty hunter daily quests. You automatically receive information about all characters with bounty around and can initiate "duel" by simply attacking them. Other criminals and bounty hunters can join this duel at will (first hit deals zero damage and just activates battle spirit and PVP rule set).

...and one they originally had plans for, known and referred to as "the PvP part of the justice system" but then changed their mind on the idea, and dropped it for good as they decided they do not wish to mix PvP into their PvE regions, and that it was too iffy with griefing options and all that.MartiniDaniels wrote: »As somebody mentioned, some kind of PVP bounty hunting in PVE overland will be interesting idea...
Because characters are characters, not the player? That's where the Role-Playing Game part of MMORPG comes in. It would be pretty creepy if we were role-playing ourselves.

Can people stop suggesting this? It isn’t going to happen and it shouldn’t. Forced PvP in PvE zones should never ever be a thing in this game.

What's forced? Don't get a bounty and don't walk around like you don't have it. Also this system of course will require higher rewards for stealing.. though you are right this will never happen, so stealing/thieving will be one of the weakest and pointless features in ESO as soon as you realize other activities bring you more money with less fuss.

By now you will have seen the other reasons to not have your idea. Heres another: I go on a murder spree on one character, log off, log in on a throwaway alt, get arrested on that character, bounty cleared...profit.

I create characters from the concepts of people I have met who I do not like.
That way, I am glad when they die over and over due to my lack of skills

There are ton of ways to make this game immersive and engaging, but unfortunately majority of players prefer potato field with dailies and running from one quest marker to other.
I got a friend, experienced gamer from the 199x, when there were no quest markers and google. And even such veterans became lazy. I bite him to become WW and he didn't know what big animal to kill to bring to Hircine, so he was killing smaller ones and raged at me that quest is stupid. I specially was silent so he figured it on his own.. after long rage he finally killed mammoth and said this was stupidest and worst quest in ESO he met (though he greatly adores ESO's quests overall)
