I accept the fact the DLC dungs are significantly harder than the vanilla ones. I'm not particularly skilled or hardcore, so I leave the more challenging aspects of the game to people who enjoy them. There is still so much to do around the world.

They've nerfed most of the DLC dungeons to the ground...along with power creep... has resulted in these dungeons being completed without having to deal with mechanics anymore...a perfect example is WGT...I went in there the other day for a pledge...hadn't been in there in ages...and I was WTF?...what did they do to the Planar Inhibitor?

You just had a good group.

Trust me, there are still plenty of pugs that can struggle on that boss.

There is no problem with dungeons, just people these days are lazy and want everything easy. Devs could add better rewards etc but then more casuals would cry here that dungeons are too difficult.

Its a video game. Laziness doesnt factor into when literally every single person playing is just sitting on their ass staring at a screen.

lol seriously? People who don't bother to become better players and then complaint about dungeons difficulty are lazy. Lazy to go check guides, lazy to try until they make it, lazy to farm what is need to improve their chars etc.

    Define "better"?

Meta builds, ganking and making life difficult for newer players is not being a "better" player.

And "guides"? Seriously? The guides are awful and completely unrealistic to your average player.

The best we "casuals" can do is simply play and enjoy.

Unfortunately, it's folks like you that make "enjoyment" the least important thing about the game.

Jesus... Ok better as in getting better at playing your character and better at doing dungeona and learning their mechanics. Guides are a start, you can read them and get an idea of what a dungeon might be then you have to go and learn how the mechanics etc.

What makes you think that learning and putting effort to do hard dungeons is not fun? I'm more than happy to help people and learn new dungeons together. Wth the other day I joined a pug they were mid dungeon and none of us knew what to do (first time for the whole group) but we still tried and kept fighting and getting our asses kicked until we finaly did it.

When people are not lazy and are willing to learn and try, then it's fun to help and also learn together. Now I have no simpanthy for folks who just cry for nerfs and easy mode cause they don't bother. Everyone can do these dungeons they just have to try and show interest. You would be surprised how nice "leet" players can be when you ask them, the ones who are nasty are usualy the noob ones with a big ego.

    I don't disagree with you.

When you define "better", it makes it much easier to understand your comment.

To often nowadays, people just assume that everyone holds the same definitions and opinions that they do, and that is patently not true.

You are right. Guides are a good start, but, taking the time to learn the mechanics and actually play the game for a while before you attempt more difficult content is the key.

I know for myself, when I first started lo those many years ago, I was pretty bad.

I'm much better now, but it has taken a lot of practice!

Yea dude I'm sorry, it really bothers me when I see people asking to make things easier in games. It just a tendency that has been going on and is changing games for the worse imo.
My first mmo was lotro, the only videogame I had played before that was the sims 2 lol I was a big big newbie but I wanted to do raids cause they seemed like awesome places to go and one had a fvcking balrog! I took a chance and joined one of the "leet" guilds(the ones that get server firsts etc) when I applied I was certain I would be rejected but nope.. they helped me and they helped alot of other people. We had casual players that logged in once in a while and were still welcome in raids...this is why I know everyone can do it and have fun, they just need to be make some effort. I know not all "leet" players are like this, but I believe the majority of them is more than happy to help people who are interested and put the effort in.

    Oh, I agree.

ESO has, honestly, become laughably easier over the years (understand that I don't do faction or PvP content).

When I first started it when it came out, I found it so punishing that I rarely played.

Now, I'm up to CP68 on my newest character and, honestly, I've rarely died, except from the occasional world boss I've run in to alone.

I'm not even that good a player.

I've taken to calling it "Normal Mode", which it seems to be pretty much that from every other single player I've ever played.

I make fun of the "leets" as you call them, but have to admit that, on the whole, they're cool. Sure there's sometimes a tool, but, hey, that's true of any group.

I have to admire their dedication and skill.

Me - I don't have the time and I'm far too lazy to ever reach such dizzying heights! :)

Just to add to the post above. I did a trial with a friend the other day, the DLC trial with the shadow gryphons. It was on normal, but we did it with 11 people and no tank. Tank left before we started on the first boss and we were too lazy to find a replacement.

The game is pretty easy. I've done much of the content on Veteran, and most of it is still puggable.

Now I don't believe the playerbase is incapable of harder content. I really don't. I've seen what the average player in FFXIV can do, in a PUG group. They're capable of much harder content than here in ESO. I don't see any reason why a player in ESO would be lesser than one in FFXIV.

The issue is, we're not required to do harder content to get the stuff we want. So we just don't Why would I run a current DLC vet dungeon if I'm not going to use the gear? When I can just craft the gear I want and then farm Dolmens/Bosses in the open world for the rest.

Someone said earlier that they should make the harder stuff more 'fun'. I believe they are fun. But I'm still not going to do them over and over for kicks and giggles. This game gets way too easy to 'beat'. For example when Morrowind came out. I logged in, updated CP, did a few quests and unsubbed and dropped out of the game because the gear I had was better than the gear I could get. I literally beat that expansion by logging in adjusting points, and logging out.

Yes I skipped a ton of quests and other things. I don't play games for story. I read books for that. I play games to play games. I'm not alone on this.
