Weather and Day/Night control in Player Owned Homes.

As the title says, I think it would be great to be able to control the Weather and Day/Night cycle of our homes. For me, decorating a house simply isn't enough when i want to portray a specific kind of theme, for example, when im building a home to be a Necromancer's/Vampire's paradise, the ambiance is kind of thrown when it's bright and sunny and the doom and gloom brought on by my furniture looks very out of place. Would it even be possible to give us that kind of control? To allow us to set what time of day it is when in a player home? Perhaps even allowing us to lock in a specific cycle so the house stays perpetually in that timeframe (i.e. a house set to perpetual night for all you night owls who want your dark and gloomy manor to ever remain a foreboding sight to all who enter the grounds.) But why stop there? Why not allow us to change the weather inside the home as well? Being able to keep my house under a sea of raging stormclouds would add atmosphere than you cannot get through furniture alone.

I remember this getting mentioned in a livestream ahead of Summerset's release. Kinda figured it was in the works from the way the housing team was talking. I'm kinda surprised we don't have this by now.

so do i. there are so many houses with potential, but most dont have the right ambiance. If i could change the weather and lighting myself, it'd make it much easier to create my own personal player home that i feel happy to live in.

I want to be able to pick when and for how long it rained too, I love my Old Mistveil Manor and sitting on the upper balcony listening to the rain would be so amazing

One of the best ideas I've read re housing. Have an awesome!

i've honestly done the best i can, but it feels like so many houses and furniture were designed to have this kind of control over the ambiance, and the fact we dont is disappointing.

I don't even care about weather, I would just like to be able to keep my house on night...all the pretty lights get ruined in the daytime /:

definitely, plus the otherworldly glow of my daedric braziers just looks silly in broad daylight.
another thing i've wanted to know is that if we do get control of the weather, do we get weather that is locked specifically for a region, for example, a house in the pact zone getting the option for ash rain, or a snowfall or blizzard?

i really like the idea of being able to have weather than isn't mutally exclusive to a single region, for example, having it snow at my house in summerset.

Yes please, but also allow us to decide the skyline of places that don’t have weather patterns such as the coldharbour house or the Artaeum house (especially artaeum please, too bright for my ideas even though it’s a dusk/dawn type of sky)...

i've been thinking about the idea of being able to queue multiple weather conditions for our homes, say for example if we set it to both foggy and rainy, it'll alternate between the two.

Ooh i just had another idea. What if we had the ability to create unique weather in our homes? For example, taking a blizzard and turning it into a real storm, complete with thunder and lightning. (thundersnow)

I got quite envious when I saw ZoS was able to change the time of day in a house during a stream!

I'd love to be able to change it, and not only for the theme but also for when you decorate a house. Sometimes you want it dark when you add lightning, and other times you want it to be day so you see where you put things!

We have a huge lack of things that adds atmosphere to our housing. It's all empty, souless and unmoveable husks.
We need more ambient effects! Such as weather - that is not some expensive Crown Store exclusive piece of fog we only can put down like 2 off before we hit the limit. And sound (More than the music boxes) and just more "life" in general, such as NPCs like guards etc.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

@Matthew_Galvanus if you want a house that typifies doom and gloom and always appears quite dark then I would recommend Ebonheart Chateaux...…

Currently it's my Vampires home..... I'm considering an overhaul for any possible Necromancer(if I relent and buy Elsweyr)

There is never any sunlight there! :)

If you are on PC give Essential Housing Tools add-on a try. Amazing what that will do for your homes.

EHT is amazing and I use it, but the trouble with its effects is that it's a huge pain to share them with other people. If a mod can do it, surely the devs can add day/night and weather controls to the base game...

maybe, but honestly i don't like the idea of needing to spend upwards of 4 million gold to guy it, and if i wanted basic furnishings i'd have to spend like 14k crowns.

Being able to change the lighting and ambiance of any home we own should be something we are allowed to do so we can make any home fit around whatever we want to make for it.
