There's not much to hate in that guy. 'kay, he used to be a slaver. Nobody's perfect. 'kay, he used to spy on her protégée for someone else's account. Nearly everyone does that in GOT.
Else he's loyal, clever, educated, brave, skilled, devoted, and extremely handsome.

I thought it was going to be Arya - who else could it have been? Particularly after the "blue eyes" chat with Melisandre. And I'm very happy with that.
A bit less happy with Jon "Know nothing" Snow having played too much Skyrim recently and thinking he can try out his dragon shout on an undead dragon.

Also the death of the Nightking was ridiculous. I mean they hyped him up for several seasons and now he dies without even a fight?
Dude wtf it felt like they were trying to cram in a resolution to the entire thing into the last 5 mins of the episode.
And I know I'm in the minority here but I think more important characters should have been involved in the 'final fight'. Having trouble thinking of Arya as more than a side character. I mean she was cool with the hound but from that point her arc became kind of dull and she really wasn't a key player in any of the recent events and wasn't previously involved in the war against the dead.

To all the people criticizing the charge, what were they supposed to do? Even if you look at the strategy map they drew the night before, it shows that there's nothing stopping the army of the dead from swarming out across the sides of the human troops and enveloping the entite castle. The dead don't fight in formation, they're a wave of death, a mob of zombies that would spread wherever they could. So even if they assign the dothraki to the flank, they'd be swarmed in seconds by wights, and if they're just waiting around on the side they wouldn't even have room or time to gather momentum for a charge because the whole field would be crowded by bodies everywhere at that point. So a single charge to reduce the strength of the dead's frontline was really the only thing those dothraki could do (sad, but true; R.I.P.)godchucknzilla wrote: »

This! I also found it absolutely ridiculous and was sitting like "wtf just happened?". It looked like producers completely ran out of creative ideas.

Plus, the entire point of the strategy was to delay the dead until the NK focuses on Bran and makes himself vulnerable, so no amount of cavalry flanking or harassment would've worked, only a chance to delay death long enough for Dany and Jon to ambush the NK. Because there was no way the NK would die in anything but a sudden unexpected strike, and every soldier was expendable because without the NK's death they would've never won against the dead numbers-wise anyway, master strategy or not. (Buuut then Dany of course had to ruin their ambush plan by starting to fry mindless zombies, when their real goal was supposed to be to get the jump on the NK instead... ah well, it worked out fine in the end)
Oh, I do agree about the trebuchets, they should have been shooting before, and shooting for a lot longer. However, they couldn't really see (I assume because of the NK's fog) so if they waited longer to charge, the dead might be too close and then the dothraki would be caught between the unsullied and the dead with no room to maneuver. I suspect the trenches were limited because of time, and because it takes a lot of effort to dig up frozen earth, and because they had to encircle the entire castle and thus cover a lot of ground, otherwise they could've had several lines of fire set up. I'm not sure about the 'cavalry between two trenches' scnerio though, as that would make the dothraki stuck in a narrow circle around the castle, limiting their numbers (basically only a few of them being in contact with the dead) and movement (stuck between spikes and growing piles of corpses). To all the people criticizing the charge, what were they supposed to do? Well I expect something better than riding off to die before the battle even starts. It was dumb. Also fire those trebs! Needed more trebs and more wide trenches with funnel points. The cavalry could have circled around the castle between 2 trenches charging down undead as they funneled through. I get they didn't have a lot of time to prepare but it was lackluster.

Arya was trying to incap NK but he blocked, unfortunately even though Theon was dead, his snipes desynched and hit the NK all at once
Arya has always been my favorite, so for me, that ending was sooooo satisfying. I can even forgive little Lady Mormont’s death (I mean, she did take a zombie giant with her). Jorah and Ed were of course sad too.
I’m glad Davos got to see Melisandre’s death, the face he made when he realized what happened to Shireen was soul-crushing.

Davos Seaworth is my number 1 favorite character in the show. Now that I’ve actually admitted it in writing, I’m pretty sure he’ll die next.
That's why I was surprised to see Arya kill the Night King, it seemed set up perfectly for her to kill Cersei and end this. Having her kill BOTH threats in the final season would seem like just repeating yourself. I have no problem with her killing the Night King, I just think they've tied their hands so that killing Cersei is the one thing she can't do.

@LadySinflower There are are two dragons flying in the preview for next week
I hope they survive.
Skyrim , GoT and now eso have done a great job bringing dragons to life.
