Didn't seem that long... only about 45 minutes to an hour.deadsheepb14_ESO wrote: »Eclecticbill wrote: »I don't watch TV but I am assuming JORA is a character?
Yes, Ser Jorah Mormont. He beat greyscale but he didn't survive the Long Night.
I felt sorry for him (predicted his death as soon as he said he would go and guard there) up until the point he charged into close range combat with a bunch of White Walkers with only a spear. Does anyone in this damn show have any idea of tactics or combat smarts?Ectheliontnacil wrote: »Am I the only one who felt sorry for Theon? Also the death of the Nightking was ridiculous. I mean they hyped him up for several seasons and now he dies without even a fight?
Dude wtf it felt like they were trying to cram in a resolution to the entire thing into the last 5 mins of the episode.
And I know I'm in the minority here but I think more important characters should have been involved in the 'final fight'. Having trouble thinking of Arya as more than a side character. I mean she was cool with the hound but from that point her arc became kind of dull and she really wasn't a key player in any of the recent events and wasn't previously involved in the war against the dead.
So many seasons to hype up the night king and then everything ends in 1 episode..and we don't even get to know his background and motivation. Felt rushed and not really satisfying.
If I had to vote for a GoT episode I don't really like it would be S8E3 :-(

Anyone else finding Daenerys being upset at Jon for actually being a Targaryen a little forced? I mean, aside from them being Aunt and Nephew, if they got married, wouldn't that make Jon King anyway?
Why all the "That gives you a claim to the Iron Throne" stuff? He already bent the knee to her, don't know why he would find issue letting her lead now just because he found out his real name.
Seems like forced drama.

maybe she's grossed out about having had sex with him?

Also try reading the books, they are much better.

First, there's a difference between being king as the ruler of a kingdom, and being king as simply the spouse of the queen.
Also, Dany wants the iron throne not because she is craving power, but because she thinks she's the rightful heir to said throne. And now Jon is the rightful heir. That trumps him having bent the knee - at least in her views, because to her, being the rightful (genealogically and genetically) heir is important.
And third, depending on how their respective cultural background considers incest, they may not be able to marry each other, and maybe not even to love each other in a sexual way, which would mean their relationship is impossible.
That's a lot to take imho - especially considering she's only had a few minutes between the revelation and the beginning of the fight (and loosing virtually 100% of her armed forces within minutes).
I'm just hoping it won't be the catalyst that pushes her in her father's direction.
After what she endured....being sold, ***, betrayed...this, finding out shes not actually the last of her line, that will send her over the edge.
Really hoping that won't be the case.
Would have been cool if the Night King approached Bran, grinned, then took his mask off and it would be Arya using her mad Clever&Smart disguise thingy.
Oh... and did you notice when she killed the Night King, she used the same trick with the dagger that she used against Brienne when they were training?
They're in the Godswood though, which is full of trees. She could have easily snuck through a forest and hid in the branches waiting for the perfect moment to strike, just as she avoided a group of wights in a much smaller enclosed space that were even searching all over the place instead of staring in a fixed way at Bran as the ones at the end did. Also note that the white walkers and the wights were further away from the Night King, therefore if she jumped from a tree, she could have had the momentum to get to him before the zombies noticed her.Yep. No buildings around to jump off of. She is literally just flying. Over whites. In an open field of not much. Such an annoyingly unreasonable thing to be happening. To top it off, I was questing in Summerset as Game of Thrones was being DVRed and someone yells out in chat: "ARYA KILLS THE NIGHTKING!" I immediately turned off the game to watch the show and eventually see the spoiler. I have to say, everything up to that point had my insides all riled up. Until Jon Snows attempted suicide to blue Dragon breath. Another one of his, "I give up, just kill me" moments. God, he was so useless last night. Then Arya, who is now a bird, saves the day. Okay.Ectheliontnacil wrote: »Arya teleports out of mid air (into an area completely encircled by walkers and wights I might add) and stabs the night king with some Assassin's Creed (but less cool) style moves.
Great episode. Dumb ending.
