I don't watch TV but I am assuming JORA is a character?

Yes, Ser Jorah Mormont. He beat greyscale but he didn't survive the Long Night.
Didn't seem that long... only about 45 minutes to an hour.

Just remember folks, his death is Daenerys' fault. If she would stop being so terrible he wouldn't have had to ride in to save her (again).
Am I the only one who felt sorry for Theon? I thought his death was one of the most touching in the series, great character and great actor!
I felt sorry for him (predicted his death as soon as he said he would go and guard there) up until the point he charged into close range combat with a bunch of White Walkers with only a spear. Does anyone in this damn show have any idea of tactics or combat smarts?

Yeah but he had no arrows, no sword and no reinforcements. He was going to die anyways, all he could do was die like a badass, charging like 15 white walkers and the night king.

So many seasons to hype up the night king and then everything ends in 1 episode..and we don't even get to know his background and motivation. Felt rushed and not really satisfying.
If I had to vote for a GoT episode I don't really like it would be S8E3 :-(

Also the death of the Nightking was ridiculous. I mean they hyped him up for several seasons and now he dies without even a fight?
Dude wtf it felt like they were trying to cram in a resolution to the entire thing into the last 5 mins of the episode.
And I know I'm in the minority here but I think more important characters should have been involved in the 'final fight'. Having trouble thinking of Arya as more than a side character. I mean she was cool with the hound but from that point her arc became kind of dull and she really wasn't a key player in any of the recent events and wasn't previously involved in the war against the dead.

Ya. Good episode and the end invalidated the whole thing and disappointment flowed.

    I don't know.
I mean, of course it all ends in one final episode and battle. And it's also quite obvious that there would not be a long fight between the night king and one of the main characters, because the night king is way too powerful. Killing him with one surprising strike seemed the only option for me.
But I totally agree about the lacking background and motivation. Not explaining anything is lazy storystelling, leaving the white walkers with no role except "bad guys want to kill everything".

Umm they did explain the night King’s origin motivation and backstory.

Maybe you guys should pay better attention.

Also try reading the books, they are much better.

Also to the one guy who said if there were no dragons he would t watch it: dragons are the smallest part of the story and are almost added as an afterthought.

Eight seasons of hyping up “Winter is Coming”, yet several fan favorites like Jamie, Brienne, Podrick, and Sam all miraculously survive?

I don’t want to seem bloodthirsty or anything, but it was kind of a let down.

Anyone else finding Daenerys being upset at Jon for actually being a Targaryen a little forced? I mean, aside from them being Aunt and Nephew, if they got married, wouldn't that make Jon King anyway?
Why all the "That gives you a claim to the Iron Throne" stuff? He already bent the knee to her, don't know why he would find issue letting her lead now just because he found out his real name.

      Seems like forced drama.

I figured it would be opposite. It is a Targaryen thing, after all. (And a Lannister thing)

First, there's a difference between being king as the ruler of a kingdom, and being king as simply the spouse of the queen.
Also, Dany wants the iron throne not because she is craving power, but because she thinks she's the rightful heir to said throne. And now Jon is the rightful heir. That trumps him having bent the knee - at least in her views, because to her, being the rightful (genealogically and genetically) heir is important.
And third, depending on how their respective cultural background considers incest, they may not be able to marry each other, and maybe not even to love each other in a sexual way, which would mean their relationship is impossible.
That's a lot to take imho - especially considering she's only had a few minutes between the revelation and the beginning of the fight (and loosing virtually 100% of her armed forces within minutes).

I would read the books if I didn't play ESO. But playing ESO some 1-2 hours a day, reading GOT would be an overdose of medieval fantasy to me. Especially since they follow the exact same codes : dragons, undead, cold, heat, eastern environment, northern environment, celtic environment, kings, princes, ghouls, crows, ravens, magic trees, sorcerers, warriors in heavy armour, thieves and stealth people in leather armour, wizards in robes, giants, werewolves, people wo can see the past, others who can see the future... with the notable exception of catmen and lizardmen, everything in the scenery is exactly the same.

I'm just hoping it won't be the catalyst that pushes her in her father's direction.
After what she endured....being sold, ***, betrayed...this, finding out shes not actually the last of her line, that will send her over the edge.

Really hoping that won't be the case.

Everything is a big question-mark but I don't think it's going to end with something as trivial as Dany going mad.
We have a triangle now :

      - Dany/Jon (the last Targaryens)
      - Arya/Gendry (the last Baratheon)
      - Sansa/Tyrion (the last Lannister)

And in each "couple", one Northerner and one of the original, historical contenders to the throne... I really hope there will be a "winner" among those three configurations, and a sensible explanation as to why they win. If there's some big unexpected thing that wipes them azll off the table, I'd be very disappointed.

I'll say wait and see - only 3 weeks to go :-)

Would have been cool if the Night King approached Bran, grinned, then took his mask off and it would be Arya using her mad Clever&Smart disguise thingy.

Oh... and did you notice when she killed the Night King, she used the same trick with the dagger that she used against Brienne when they were training?

Bran would have to be dead for Arya to use his face as a mask. That's why they take the faces off the dead at The House of Black and White. That's how she was able to look like Walder Frey, after she killed him. So you are wishing for Bran's death for Arya to pull that off.

Arya teleports out of mid air (into an area completely encircled by walkers and wights I might add) and stabs the night king with some Assassin's Creed (but less cool) style moves.
Yep. No buildings around to jump off of. She is literally just flying. Over whites. In an open field of not much. Such an annoyingly unreasonable thing to be happening. To top it off, I was questing in Summerset as Game of Thrones was being DVRed and someone yells out in chat: "ARYA KILLS THE NIGHTKING!" I immediately turned off the game to watch the show and eventually see the spoiler. I have to say, everything up to that point had my insides all riled up. Until Jon Snows attempted suicide to blue Dragon breath. Another one of his, "I give up, just kill me" moments. God, he was so useless last night. Then Arya, who is now a bird, saves the day. Okay.

      Great episode. Dumb ending.
They're in the Godswood though, which is full of trees. She could have easily snuck through a forest and hid in the branches waiting for the perfect moment to strike, just as she avoided a group of wights in a much smaller enclosed space that were even searching all over the place instead of staring in a fixed way at Bran as the ones at the end did. Also note that the white walkers and the wights were further away from the Night King, therefore if she jumped from a tree, she could have had the momentum to get to him before the zombies noticed her.

Now, I do kinda wish she had put on the face of a dead wight, and we could've seen a zombie from the rows and rows of wights suddenly stab the Night King, only to have Arya pull off a rotting zombie face skin from her head . But still, what we got wasn't that bad either. It would have been eyerollingly chiché is Jon got into a one on one sword duel with the NK. Or if Dany managed to kill him somehow, which would have been more far-fetched than a trained assassin doing trained assassin things.

My take on that whole scene is that the Night King told the walkers and wights to stand down. If you noticed, they weren't attacking Theon or Bran. They don't move without the NK's say so. So, Arya sneaks in when the NK isn't feeling threatened and, therefore, he doesn't command his 'troops' to attack. He goes down without a fight because that's the only way it could happen. No one could beat him in an actual fight. This is why it had to be Arya and not Jon or anyone else.

There's not much to hate in that guy. 'kay, he used to be a slaver. Nobody's perfect. 'kay, he used to spy on his protégée for someone else's account. Nearly everyone does that in GOT.
Else he's loyal, clever, educated, brave, skilled, devoted, and extremely handsome.
