After playing sorc in PVP every other class just feels underpowered.

Can we buff other classes to where they are competitive with mag sorcs? If you duel in stormhaven or grahtwood you know what i'm talking about. Everybody is a sorc. In vivec most players are sorcs. I've been playing the class a lot recently and I see why. Nothing else compares to it's mobility, burst, or defense. It's a represenation of a class that has everything it needs in it's kit to play high level pvp. Using mag sorc as a model can we bring the other classes up to par. I've gone back to my stam dk and while I have comparable tankiness the shortcomings are glaring now that i've played the other class for a while.

That meme is not gonna work here. Sorcs are performing better than any other class at the moment in pvp and the other classes need to be brought up to par. If you deny this it's because you know it's true and you don't want your spot at the top of the pile touched.

Whatever you said, the "nerf sorc" meme doesn't have a place here even it was sarcasm. I want to have a discussion about bringing other classes up to par with sorc so we can fluid high paced pvp

I've posted screenshots of my sorc going 30-0 in battlegrounds, taking on 4 to 10 players in Cyrodiil, solo'ing vet dungeons...still get told how weak and underpowered they are.

I know you're trying to talk about buffing other classes to the sorc standard, but I'll be very surprised if the thread goes along those lines. Just not how this forum works...

%70 of the cyrodiil is magsorcs or stam/magblades due to their pug/casual friendly class designs. i have no problem with that, some classes should be casual/pug friendly. ofc there are several counterplays on the table but, *** that, can't really be arsed to spend several minutes to catch a magsorc/stam/mag blade. not worth my time.

if you are a magsorc - streak spam while shields are up and high mitigation from several pets. and you know, your pet gonna save your ass agaist most of the gap closers.

if you are mag/stamblade - purge and cloak away while putting shade in a proper location. for more try harding, check undo from psijic.

Maybe should have started the thread in the PVP section or Combat mechanic section to actually have a constructive conversation about this. I do agree sorcs are good in 1vx situations yet fall behind in the group makeups(I am a mag sorc and am basically there for my negate because Magblade is a better spot to get burst damage). Also, I do not see a lot of sorcs out in Cyro, at least while taking keeps/ouposts, it is by far my slowest kill quest during primetime on PC-NA.

Thank you. The other day in vivec I beat a very high level player for the first time in about 30 encounters over the years. This person is better than me I know that but I was carried and it dawned on me that the class had me thinking I was better than I actually am. Dueled him on my main (stam dk) last night 10times and I was deleted 10 times. I like mag sorc a lot and do think it sets a standard for other classes.

Ironically I use those pets as anchor points to follow streaking sorcs via gap closers.

I personally don't think that sorcs are as strong as you put em here. I think it's more the player behind it that is probably good at playing his toon. I play stamdk myself in pvp and never had any problemes with sorcs. Sometimes they die sometimes I do. For me there is no difference in what my opponent is playing.

I agree that we should be able to turn off pet targeting. The only pet i've used on a sorc is shadowrend and that was when I was fooling around with necropotence. For me my non pet sorc has been stronger than any zoo I've encountered. Wearing brighthroats boast or necro paired with shadowrend or chudan, and willpower/master's destro. I've also played around with brighthtroats/spinners/chudan but found shadowrend was too good to give up in most scenarios. We should raise other classes to the level of sorc not bring sorc down to the level of other classes.

Is it a pet sorc? Is your charcter new in bgs? If you get 30-0 in bgs you either play against pve players or newbies or stealing kills. Top killers(non kill steals) are stam dks and stamdens in BGs. Non pet sorc builds usually are easy to kill in and pvp, because of low healing power without twilight or clanfeer espacially with the upcomong nerf to resto ulti. In regards to pve, can use solo dlc dungeons as well? I find it very hard, because certain bosses require interupts from other players or hit so hard they kill tanks without blocking. I can solo bon dlc vet dungeons on my templar without any problem. With I started playing BGs on my mag DK, I used to have 20+kills and 0-2 deaths. Now, I cansider my self lucky to finish a death match with 10 kills and 2-4 deaths. It's also the same with my mag sorcs until I slot mages wrath, then I can atchieve 15+kill easily espacially if I have a heavy dot build like dks or templar.

Any class can be good if you take the time to learn how to play them. I have seen plenty more crappy sorcs than good ones playing this game.

Did you do the "jump around" too? I read somewhere on the forum that if you jump around, each jump = 1% extra damage to the next target.

I could be wrong though.

Sorry OP. I'm telling you, talking about sorcs on this forum is a no win.
I fully understand you're not even talking about sorcs really, but buffing other classes.

Tried to tell you, you'll get no constructive feed back here. Noble attempt, good reasoning behind the thought....but no ones going to do anything but tell you how bad sorcs are. Doubt you'll even get discussion on any other class and what could be buffed on them. Learned long ago, saying anything positive about sorcs will get you flamed...by other sorcs no less...

Anyway, best of luck. I'm going to bow out of this conversation before it gets any more ridiculous.

note that, sorcs are kinda *** in group play due to purge/purify and active body blocking. sorcs are also *** as healer/dd in ball groups aswell, for support roles they are great tho.

Why is everybody acting like sorcs aren't in a great spot in pvp..nobody said anything about nerfing but y'all are coming here in droves talking about how underpowered sorcs are. Do you even take yourself seriously when you say these things?

Agree 100% here. This is my role in group, run Purge/Negate, Stay alive and proxy det when we push. Earthgore eats most of my negates but they are still effective for the initial bomb, aside from that the rest of the fight is me casting purge/forward momentum to stay alive and help the group move.

Sorcs who complain about how “weak” sorcs are and how they “need” to surround themselves with a zoo to survive are bad sorcs who need more practice. Simple.

That being said, I wouldn’t say that sorcs are leaps and bounds ahead of any other class. They’re easy to play, but any skilled player can excel on any class in PVP. The only class that is truly in a bad spot PVP wise at the moment is magNB. That may change with Elsweyr.
