This would be a very interesting idea , for seasonal or special rewards.
unique armor or weapon sets that you can only obtain for a limited time and cant ever get again unless you buy from another player

Given the experience of farming Worm Cult last year, I'd like to say this is a recipe for making players who want that thing very unhappy.

it would be so amazing actually obtaining a set knowing only a few people have it. very rewarding

Rewarding for like 5 people who got the thing and bad for literally everyone else who missed it. Terrible idea which needs to be completely forgotten about.
Playing your character the way your character should play is all that matters. Play as well as you can but never betray the character. Doing so would make playing an mmoRPG pointless.

No thanks I think its perfectly fine to have all the gear sets avaliable to everyone who has a life and can't play every day all the time.

Sorry, I don't actually enjoy grinding for limited time items like indrik feathers, indrik berries, monster set style pages, new festival motifs, etc. month after month after month.

If that's your jam...you do you. I think this is likely to result in the same sort of burnout we're getting from the festival rewards.

Few people have the unique weapons from vMA, vDSA, or vBRP, @Cladius30 ... why don’t you challenge yourself and get those into your bag of tricks?

I respectfully have to agree with this. I think it's great to bounce ideas around and we can all benefit from that, but in my personal opinion the limited-time offerings in-game are doing more harm than good.

Human psychology is a funny thing, not always rational, and marketing really knows how to tap into that. The limited-time offers produce the perception of pressure, even when people in reality have the option not to participate. This can lead not just to burn-out, as @VaranisArano says, but also to the kinds of negative experiences and disproportionate emotions we've seen in PvP this week.

Every Black Friday people get injured, even trampled, trying to get one-of-a-kind deals. I'm not sure we as a community should be encouraging/fostering the strange frame of mind that leads to this kind of behavior in otherwise sane adults.

It would be better to do as @Taleof2Cities suggest, and introduce rare or hard-to-get items that remain indefinitely available. Hard-to-get weapons that require unusual skill are a great example. Things that require pure luck, like aetheric ciphers, would be another.

The same blind luck to get good festival rewards that's driving everyone to grind now?

Or are we talking pre-anniversary-festival Aetheric Cipher-style RNG, where its genuinely so rare that no one grinds for it because that's pointless?

No thanks. Limited time rewards suck and this game already has enough of that.

Every time I see someone on a cool mount i want or dressed in cool armor i look it up online and it's some costume from the crown store or some mount from loot boxes you cant get anymore....

Its demoralizing when a game straight up tells you "no, you can't get that". When you have nothing you want to work towards the game becomes stale.

As long as those item sets or on the same level as the ashen grip set...I dont mind.

But it would be a bad idea, if those sets are strong.

The only way for them to implement this, would be to make the set mediocre at best, and downright bad at worst.

I wouldn't turn in to a cry baby personally. If I saw some player with an awesome set that I couldn't get anymore.. I would think first wow that's cool, secondly maybe if I have enough gold I could try buying it from them and good on them for getting it. The entire idea is that this would bring a new excitement in to the world where you never know you may get something so rare and be one of the few who gets it before its gone. I don't understand the upset of those who miss out. Almost like some kind of OCD collecting issue on a personal level maybe?

"Gotta catch 'em all" is a marketing scheme that works for more than just Pokemon.

I'd rather that ZOS moved away from their current emphasis on time-limited, "gotta get it now or you'll miss out maybe forever" marketing schemes they've had going since the Indrik started and even before that. Nor does RNG make it any better - I've never admired anyone for having a radiant apex mount.

Your proposal is just more of the same.

And no, your "I swear I don't care if I'm one of the many who miss out forever" doesn't actually make this any better for the player base as a whole - see the many people asking for things to come back to the Crown Store, see the general level of toxicity around people fighting to get all the loot boxes, etc. Yes, it's "Gotta catch 'em all" syndrome - and don't underestimate how powerful that is in the hands of marketing.

You may not care. But we see time and again that the general playerbase does. Personally, I dont think ZOS' emphasis on milking our time or money with limited time offers is good for players or good for the game. Its not actually genuine long-term enjoyment as much as it is hitting our short-term pleasure reward centers.

As above, your proposal is the same thing, except a few people are really happy to get the rare thing, and everyone else is SOL. Like most of marketing's schemes, it doesn't bring anything to the table in terms of getting people to play the game because they actually like it, instead of because they want rewards.

Maybe as a cosmetic thing, like a 5piece that shoots fireworks when you pop ULT. Actual powerful sets as limited offers would be awful.

Giving real power rewards to players who happen to be active at certain times is a terrifying idea.

Already happened. Tsaesci style, was on the store, missed it. It used to be in the unlearned styles and you could preview it, but even that's gone now.

Mildly irritating if you wanted it.
