Racial Passive Solution?

Forgive me if this has been brought up, but since the devs clearly want people to choose race on flavor/preference and not feel forced into min/max choices, maybe they can just make a quest line in the game where you can obtain an artifact that will give you a different race's passives? Make it a long quest so people don't just change willy/nilly. They already have us playing all the factions as some kind of ghost spirit person or whatever the magical hand waving excuse was to make that make sense, so why not just allow us to change it to what we want?

I would love this for my Breton stamblade 🙂

Having universal passives has been beaten to death in the forums, @jeff.mccarthy74ub17_ESO.

No one is forced into any one particular race. Players put that on themselves ... under an often misguided notion that race is more important than rotation, gameplay style, or experience.

It would be nice if race was just a cosmetic... but it's not. Neither in real world nor in ESO. Just deal with it :)

Well, they gave us the choice to look how we want regardless of the armor type we're actually wearing, which is even more egregious from a realism point of view, so there is a precedent set for them giving us choice.

Not a huge deal, mind you, but I think a lot of people feel pressured to pick races based on the bleating of the min/maxers and the (apparent) majority that seem to follow them. I main a Breton Templar and I feel like I have to run Magicka builds to not waste the nice passives.

That being said, I'm no where near end game, but I try to plan ahead and assume I'll get there down the line. If the differences are small enough to only be relevant to the world first content clearing crowd, I'd feel better. Though even if that's the case, all it takes is the general perception of something being bad for it to cause issues in the general population of players. "LUL, a Breton Stamplar tank? LTP NEWB" - KICK FROM GROUP. :p
