Why does the Outfitter show you all the armor pieces when you won't be allowed to obtain them?

I was checking various looks out on a toon and found Fanged Worm medium has a real good look. I don't have it, so I went to look for it.

You are not allowed to buy it. Doesn't even show in guild store. It's not in Crown Store. So I did some googling.

Apparently, from what I read, you are required to do Battlegrounds, where you get one random drop IF and only IF you finish high enough, and that drop does not even cover all three types (light, medium, heavy). You don't get a motif for chest piece, for example. You get a specific piece for a specific slot.

Now they say the upside is that the system keeps track of what you have, so you never get a duplicate - so eventually after months of BGs you can get the single piece you want.

My question is - IS there any other way to get this armor?

And if not - Why would Any company think that denying players access to Cosmetics that they want is a good idea?

There are very few PVP exclusive customizables. It gives incentive to unlock Caltrops/Warhorn for your characters through battlegrounds as well as rewarding your effort (RNG does suck but what can you do). I hope you begin to do battlegrounds, and can get it to drop

You can use Fang Lair as a sub. The differences for a lot of the pieces is pretty minor and you can achieve kind of the same 'style'.

I don't mind Fanged Worm being more difficult to obtain and being BG exclusive; gives incentive for BGs/PvP and PvP already doesn't have many special rewards.

Not everything has to be handed to you on a silver platter you know. If you want something. You gotta work for it, even if it's something you're uncomfortable doing. You want the Fanged Worm set that badly, then start doing Battlegrounds! Or, just, Get Fanged Lair instead. Fanged Wormed is literally an edited version of the former anyway.

It’s not a good idea. When they released these, I stopped caring about having all motifs and styles because they made it impossible for me. Of course, there are some other things that have the same issue. Most of those I don’t care about either, because I can’t. They’ll never happen.

I don't want it THAT badly. That's kinda the point. I'm not going to start doing BGs to get it. Especially when it could take 100 to get one single piece you want. It's just ridiculous.

I can understand locking the best pieces behind tough dungeons. Those pieces affect your stats and may give spcial abilities. They give an actual edge in combat. This is cosmetic. This is for 'looks' only. Should not be a big deal to obtain.

Nope, you'll have to play Battleground matches to get them. I only wanted the Fanged Worm Jack and after a week or two I looted one. It's not THAT bad of a grind since you get a chance at getting one even if you come in 2nd. It doesn't matter what your personal score is, so long as your team finishes either in 1st, or 2nd place, and the rewards aren't account bound, its per character. So if you have what, 15 characters is it? Then you have 15 chances at getting pages per day.

1) The Outfit System is designed to let you preview items so you can decide if you wish to pursue a certain style page.

2) Nearly every Outfit Style is easily acquired in game. A few are available only in the Crown Store at certain times of the year.

3) ZoS has not denied you the Fanged Worm Jack outfit style page. You are exaggerating to the point of a lie. It is a reward for playing certain game content.

4) The Outfit System is a vast improvement over what we had before, which was crafted sets limited to motifs you had learned and the appearance of the armor weight you crafted. Drop sets had absolutely zero customizable appearance other than dye.

It is up to you - solely, exclusively, and freely - to decide which, if any, outfit styles you'd like to acquire. Most are easy, some require skill, a few - like Fanged Worm - require commitment.

The only one 'denying' you this cosmetic is you.

The object of having any reward is to encourage players to do that content.

Some rewards are easy to get - try porting in to Falkreath Hold and porting straight back out again for a nice achievement, some require a bit more work - like getting Maelstrom weapons or the Worm Cult personality.

Costumes, skins, motifs and furniture plans seem to work well as motivators to keep content relevant at present. They also seem a more positive way of encouraging players to revisit content than, say, an appalling drop rate for a much wanted set piece. eg I might get grumpy having to do CoA again to try for a Burning Spellweave inferno staff, but I will happily farm DC2 to try and get a monster mask motif.

If everything was easy this wouldn’t be much of a game.

A pvper doesn't like pve but wants a trial skin, well gosh diddly darn it why should zos deny these players the cosmetics they want? Sound logic.

First of all, It is very similar to the Fang lair motif as it is based on it. Secondly I remember reading that you can get duplicates but the game just doesn't show them to you effectively making it take longer between drops as you get more pages.

I mean, the two Dragonbones alt styles could be purchasable with AP (retaining their bound status.) The drop could be configured to ensure you get a new page each time, instead of rolling the dice, picking one, then checking to see if you already have it and not bothering to give it to you if you've already got that page.

There are ways to make this less grindy.

Go grind out BGs like the rest of us. You're not being denied anything, it's incentive to do the content. So go do it if you want it.

Play battlegrounds for a while regularly on any toon or complete vFL 100 times or vFL HM 20 times on vet trial level toon.. mmm, what style is was easier to get, eh? Fact that majority of motifs dropped in price so much, that you may buy complete DLC motif for less then 100k now doesn't mean that some motifs shouldn't require some work.

Soul shriven style with that amazing katana requires to complete Cadwell's silver and that amazing pot helm requires Cadwell's gold.

I don't like dumb simplified questing in form of running from marker to marker, so "my question is - IS there any other way to get those armor?
